marharth
After you feed ask a inn keeper about gossip. It should trigger a quest to cure vampirism.
xlcr
@Kyrenjai, you encountered hostile vampires somewhere and they cast Vampiric Drain spells which causes a 10% chance of Sanguinare Vampiris infection.Sanguinare Vampiris is a normal curable disease reducing health 25 points; however, you probably didn't know you had it i guess. After 3 days if left uncured it progresses to full vampirism and can no longer be reversed with a normal disease cure potion/blessing. You should've seen a few warning messages like "you feel strangely weakened by the sunrise" or "you feel a strange thirst come over you" at sunset or"you suck!" on a nexusmods forum lol. If you checked the active effects list you could've seen Sanguinare Vampiris registered. Take a close look at your character, you'll probably notice pale skin (or fur), fangs and vampiric eyes, the reflection in the screen is you looking pissed off.So, since you're now Count Draculakiin lol, there are four 24-hour stages which advance if you do not feed on a sleeping NPC (which returns you to stage 1).NPC's usually comment on your appearance and become hostile if you've reached stage 4.You also have a bunch of new powers unique to vampires. Anyway, when your Vampirism fad starts to suck (pun intended), do what Marharth suggested and talk to any innkeeper - ask about any rumors. You're looking to get a quest called 'Rising at Dawn'. Spoiler, if necessary, you can read about your condition and what to do about it in more detail here: http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Vampirism#Becoming_a_Vampirehttp://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Rising_at_Dawn There are also sucky console commands you can use to get rid if it. Kyrenjai
Yup...I'm rushing things and rlly don't know why. I heard/saw the signs...just didn't know about the 4 Stage thing. Thanks for offerring suggestions. Just for game-play sake, I tried a couple a times to do the sneak thing. Not too good at it---so--I bailed and did the console command. Pathetic, right? Too funny........
GoodfellowGoodspring
I never liked that you could be turned just by fighting vampires, its not logical at all seeing as you would need to be bitten.. as well as Vampireism being boring in Skyrim i think they should have made the chance to become one very rare! xlcr
@GoodfellowGoodspring, i agree, my opinion is Bethesda kinda made a mess of vampirism lore adding possible infection from Vampiric Drain spells into the mix, its cool but traditionally a bite and only a bite is required.Guess they didn't have time to make a vampire NPC combat bite attack animation lol. Strategically i think vampires are best engaged using tactical ranged weapons (bow/attack spells) and not getting into close combat. In addition to some enchanted gear with Disease Immunity/Resistance I usually get blessings for my player/followers whenever encountering a shrine or before/after an adventure which is probably why i've been free of Sanguinare Vampiris so far. This may be immersion breaking but leaving yourself/followers open to getting diseases/sicknesses is a bit annoying. I also felt bad that Bethesda didn't include a dialog option to tell those random infected NPC's you encounter in the wild to seek out the nearest Shrine for a blessing to cure the disease.
