LE In pursuit of Magnus...

After a few playthroughs as a mage or even after completing the Winterhold College questline i noticed that after the considerable amount of effort it took to obtain the staff of magnus. It doesn't hold up to it's reputation(or even it's name being the staff of a powerful magical entity or god) in endgame situations or even (unless you completely ignore/dont level up at all) by the time you manage to obtain it. It loses it's usefulness after around level 10 and then it remains shelved.

 

Now this problem is fixed thanks to mods like Better Staff of Magnus and Staff of Magnus Fix.

 

My idea for the quest is an improvement on the story so we can answer a lot of questions raised by the mage storyline in it's entirety(all just my interpretation of the story FYI don't take this as actual lore). Why is the staff so weak now? Why was it in the hands of a dragon priest? What drove Savos Aren and company to Labyrinthian? What was Savos' Role played in the Augur of Dunlain's unfortunate dilemma?

 

Bottom line I always felt as though when the Dragonborn happens across the staff of magnus, it has been damaged and made useless. It's only current significance is that it could stop the eye's effects so you can pummel Ancano. I aim to correct that with this request, request since i am fairly new(pretty much entirely new) to modding. I wanted to make sure the idea was put somewhere, for a questline to obtain the full power of the staff of magnus. Take on the role of the Archmage as it was meant to be in a legendary pursuit of the mysteries left behind by the god of sorcery. (Instead of just modding the staff and leaving it at that)

 

And my second request is for gender neutral college/mage robes. I noticed that between male and female characters the robe designs look vastly different, and it's pretty annoying that females all have to wear the fur lined mage hoods. If anyone is out there who knows how to correct this or that knows of a mod that can I would be very appreciative.
