VileTouch
Ok, i have a question and i hope someone is able to help clear it we all know how anal the game is in terms of what you can and what you cannot do in regards to actor models, but i was wondering, since it is not possible to animate a mesh and wear it as an armor piece (as far as i know), if it is possible to have a transparent surface with a keyframed texture in it to give the illusion that certain parts of an armor are moving, and second, if that transparent surface would be able to change the silhouette of the model in question by... sticking out for instance. would it render nice enough in game so it looks realistic? of course if anyone have an idea of how to make a truly animated mesh weareable, that would be even better :D edit: if you're not sure what i mean, think of the medusa head. it's not exactly that, but it would give you an idea of what i'm after Edited May 19, 2012 by VileTouch
Perraine
Someone created a Dwemer Shield that "unwrapped" when you dropped into fighting stance (think of the shield in Percy Jackson and the lightning thief) but I don't know if you can do it on an armor mesh though
ResolveThatChord
Yes, that dwemer shield idea is clever. You'll have to be clever to use this effectively; there are a lot of limitations. It'd be a simple matter to make things "appear", but making them move will be a lot harder.I think that lightsaber mod must use a similar method. This would also work for venting steam, shooting fire, and arcing lightning.
