Spells of Aurum

Yesterday, had to format my computer because my stupid brother went on LimeWire and downloaded over 40gigs of pornograpy...

 

Loaded my computer with just over 65000 viruses suprisingly.

Anyway, After formatting my computer, reinstalling all he software, and fixing program permissions. I reinstalled Oblivion, Re-Downloaded the mods I had, and installed my own Item Tweaking mod.

Started a new game with the mods in place. I found that when I spent a little time gathering the ingredients required for Midas Magic. Placed items in the Aurum thing in the Magic shop. Consumed the Residue thing, tried to cast a spell. But had no visual affect, no damage but a 40 bounty. (Tested it on Midas himself)

 

After Eliminating the guards, and getting rid of my bounty using the code: Setcrimegold 0 (With target)

 

I tried other spells, Summon Balrog.. Yes, this had a visual effect, but nothing appeared when it hit a target. So I casted 3 more times, and I thought to myself "What the hell is going on?"

 

I tried more spells, Utterdark Blast, Nuclear Blast, Ice Burst, Holy Column, then Finally Lich Heal. Out of the ones I tried, Only lich heal spell worked. Was the only one which had a visual effect. The reason being is because it used Bethesda's visual effect (The basic spells applied into the game).

I yet again un-installed all of the mods, and Oblivion. Eliminated the traces left of Oblivion- Reinstalled, then Installed Midas Magic again (The way I did before it computer was formatted) and I still get the same results as I did earlier in the day, after wasting 20minutes or half hour of my time :P

 

Questions:

 

1. I was wondering If anyone else had/having this problem?

2. Any suggestions?

3. Is there a problem with the file which has been uploaded onto The Nexus? (even though there was no problem previously)

Oblivion Game: V1.2048 ? If that sounds right.. but it is definately higher than V1.2

Operating System: Windows Vista SP1

Graphics: Nvidia GeForce 9500 GS (Works fine with Oblivion)

RAM: 4Gb RAM

Storage: 750GB Hard Drive + 300GB External

 

Content Installed:

Official: Shivering Isles, Knights of the Nine, The Fighters Stronghold, Horse Armour, Construction Set

Mods: Item/Armour Tweaks, Akatosh Mount, Demon Race, Capes and Cloaks, Midas Magic, Dreadweave, Daedric Lord, Hashashin, BAB-Retail, Lost Paladins of the Divines, Demon Textures + Cosmetics and Elaborate eyes.
