GrindedStone
EVGA Nvida 570 or 580 These are monster video cards. You pay more for EVGA because it's top quality parts an service. You are looking at $350 minimum. There is the 560 ti as well but it's available with different amounts of cuda cores with the same 560 ti name so you got to be careful. These are more in the $200 range. Intel core i3 2100 to i5 2500. These are second generation sandy bridge cpu's. You can get faster than 2100 in a i3. Though these are duel core CPU's with 4 threads. Where a i5 is 4 core 4 thread. Then as per Intel warr using two sticks of 1333 DDR3 ram. You can get the 3rd gen ivy bridge an run 1600 under warr. You really only need 4Gb of ram. Truth is that running the opperating system plus the game will rarely be above 2Gb. However with 8Gb or more ram you can safely turn off the page file (virutal memory) Which a lot of gamers do anyway. This would be helpful if you were using normal HDD (hard drives) instead of SSD. Overclocking is more for benchmarking an actual work than it is for gaming. There are quite a few games that don't like overclocking an it can cause issues. This factors into your build because stock clocked hardware lasts longer. You can also use the stock cooler meaning you save even more money. SSD are solid state drives which are around 10 times faster than normal hard drives. They are kind of a pain because everything is designed for hard drives. Also they are very expensive in most cases. You are also still limited speed wise by your CD rom drive speed and internet connection anyway. Motherboards right now moved into PCI-E 3.0 the new standard for graphics cards. Your only real future proofing available, but not required or used much now. Mobo's come in a base model then add connectivity options and overclocking solutions. ASUS is excellent quality. Gigabyte also is top notch. Displays larger than 22 inch have a risk of eye strain. I'm not saying a 28 inch isn't awesome. They come in two panel types, the very old type, an the new IPS version. Also you have LED lit which means it uses less power. Compare in a store side by side a high gloss an non gloss old type to the newer IPS. Don't waste your money on some stupid glass see thru an covered with lights case. Get something you like, but you'll end up just wanting a black plain metal box. The important thing here is to get an amount of filtered airflow. Look for a case with 3 120mm fans. The bigger the fans the less noise, but lots of airflow. I just built this rig below. I built a new stock clocked rig. Lian Li machined alluminum case. I went with it because of the thermal properties of unpainted alluminum. Then it's shaped like the old VooDoo Cases real square an plain old school. It also used 3 120mm filtered fans. Then I went with an ASUS P8Z77-V LX because I didn't need the extra connectivity with the higher boards. It's only 3/4 of a ATX Mobo though. For the CPU I went with stock clocks in the I5 2500 along with 8Gb 1333 DDR3 as per Intel Tightly timed Gskill. . The Video card is a Evga GTX 570 2.5Gb monster . Then 2 90 Gb Sata III SSD from Kingston (sandforce) non-raid . Then a soild Apevia P/S . Lastly a 23 LG IPS panel monitor . Before that I used a very old rig, but it played skyrim pretty well. Pentium 4 550 HT (single core, logic 2) 3.4 Ghz 6 years old Asus P5N-D (This has IDE cables) It's also 800 FSB 2Gb DDR2 800, Nvidia 9800 GT energy saver Windows XP Home 32, Direct X
