LE In-Depth Horses (Immersion)

There are a variety of very good horse mods out there, and I'm playing with several currently installed. The default Skyrim horses are just, well, boring.

 

First, here's some of the mods I'm currently using, to give you an idea of what I'm requesting.

 

http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=10579#content Most people know this mod. I've used it to make my horses essential, cowards, and faster than the default. More importantly, you can use it to call your horse, telling it to stay put or follow you around. It also adds horse saddlebag storage.

 

http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=15449 This mod makes the horse mesh less fat. They still look substantial, just not overly heavy. I don't think making horses skinny is a requirement for my mod request, but I do believe it should be *compatible.*

 

http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=15305#content Adds herds of wild horses to Skyrim. Even with the "less fat" horse mesh, these guys still look like big, heavy draft horses, so you get the option of body type.

 

http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=14169 Allows you to "tame" stolen horses.

 

There's also a variety of horse skins available out there--from white to dun, "true" black (rather than black-brown), grays, roans and many more. There are also saddle options--quilted, furred and beautiful leather.

 

To get around to my suggestion:

 

I'd love to see a mod that adds herds of wild horses to Skyrim, with a multitude of colors. It could allow the taming of these horses, and the option to rename them, along with the ability to store them somewhere. By "store" I mean a public or private stable with a corral, or a "This is your new home, Horse" option somewhere. Essentially, just a way to keep your horses from wandering off to different corners of Skyrim if you ride another one. The mod would add the "call horse," "toggle horse follow/stay," and "make horses essential" option functionality, as well as making them somewhat faster. Saddlebag storage could also be added. The mod would also add the ability to craft saddles & harnesses (harnesses like Shadowmere's) of various colors, be they quilted, leather or furred, and potentially armor (although I don't know if this would be compatible with custom horse meshes). If possible, the first-person or over-the-shoulder riding perspective could also be added. The authors of the above addons might be willing to work together on this--not sure, as I haven't contacted them. Anyway, just an idea I wanted to throw out there. I've got no idea how to make mods myself, though :P

Yes, thank you for posting those links. Whether or not someone has made a mod like you requested, I do not know but it is a very interesting idea.
