Graphics glitch with multiple mods.

First of all Hi, this is my first thread on this forum, signed up today. Downloaded some mods that looked nice, Love most of them. :D

 

The problem is that my screen goes black when I enter a mod-related building. I can still play, and the interfaces and things like that are still there, BUT I can't see anything. All I see is my interface and a black screen. I can still do everything, but I only see a black screen.

 

And it only happens when I enter a mod-related building. For instance, Basso's shop in the Thieves Arsenal mod.

or the abandoned house in the hashashin armor mod.

 

If you don't understand what I mean, here's a screenie:

I have JOG_X_MOD (Don't know how I got that one), Realistic Ragdoll mod, The Unofficial Oblivion Patch, OOO, Hashashim (well duh), Thieves arsenal (well duh x2), Thievery in the Imperial City, Apophis: Armory of the Silver Dragon and Akatosh Mount mod.

 

All were added today, and the most recent ones were Realistic Ragdoll, the Hashashim one and Thieves Arsenal.

 

Here are my system specs,

 

Nvidia GeForce 7300GT

Intel Pentium D CPU 3.40 GHz

and 1GB RAM.

It might be an issue with your graphics card, remember seeing something mentioning issues with older Geforce cards.

 

Try disabling all but Hashashin, starting a new game, and just cheating your way out of prison if needed. See if the interior loads. If that works, try all of them without that JOG_X_MOD active. No idea what JOG_X_Mod is, but seems to be the only one which is unusual.

Sounds like it could be a version of the Nivida black screen bug, do you have the most recent vesion of the "Unofficial Official Oblivion Patch" installed. The Obilivion Patch has the black screen bug fix built into it.

 

I suspect it could be something to do with thieves arsenal (TA), I have about 120 mods installed and I recently installed TA and I am experiencing weird "zones" where if I look at an object indoors at just the right angle my whole screen goes black.

 

Since you seem new to modding I would highly recommend downloading "Oblivion Mod Manager" (OBMM) if you haven't already done so, it will help you more safely add/remove mods and you can easily set your load order (very important for having a stable game that doesn't crash constantly). When you get more into modding your game you should also get "Oblivion Script Extender" and "Wyre Bash" to open up support for more complex mods.

 

Ramember ALWAYS BACKUP YOUR ORIGIONAL OBLIVION DIRECTORY BEFORE ADDING MODS

I'm guessing its not an unfinished building mod. I've had that issue several times, but that has only been with my own I created in the Construction Set. I don't know what to do, is maybe disabling the mod and reinstalling it may work? But I have no idea :(

Turns out it's a HDR glitch. I switched it off, now the glitch is gone.

Typicly from what I've seen most mods won't cause a black screen bug like this, it's usually something a big more global like an INI setting or a hardware issue. (As you found out by turning off HDR) But you should be able to play with HDR, have a look at the suggestions below:

 

Do you have the most recent Nvidia black screen bug fix installed 2.0.1?

Also see my post in this forum about "Srcreen Randomly Goes Black" this might also be a cause.
