RandomCitizen1
Hello ^^ I've been looking how to create my own mods, but its a daunting project so thought I'd ask here first. Was hoping someone could recreate an armor/clothing of Gaige from "Borderlands 2." This is what she looks like: I've gone ahead and scouted pre-existing pieces that could be spliced together to get something close. Vanilla in-game pieces would be 1) the leggings and boots from the female 'Merc Charmer' outfit; 2) left arm of the 'Reinforced Metal Armor' without the spiky shoulder piece; and 3) a 'Bottlecap Mine' for the belted lunchbox. And for other pieces, the closest I found came from mod armors. "The Mercenary Wanderer" by Thundersmacker comes with a black jacket that would mostly just need sleeves removed. The tanktop from the same Mod would be fine for Gaige's undershirt as well. This Mod also comes with an underarm holster; I think removing every piece of the strapping except for the back would be pretty close to the black bits Gaige has on the back of her jacket. Unfortunately I had trouble finding a pre-existing skirt that was pretty close. The best I found was the skirt off "NV_Sinblood Steamjunk Outfit_Type6" by Sinblood, but its a bit too short and doesn't flair out as much as Gaige's skirt. Sadly couldn't find anything good for a belt reference already in game :/ If this was created, I think the set should come in 3 parts. One has everything but jacket, then another piece is the sleeveless jacket itself, and lastly the robotic arm would be an optional piece. I think it would be cool if that had like bonus Melee dmg points. I'd guess the outfit as a whole would give bonuses toward Repair and maybe 10lb extra weight room given the lunchbox and toolbelt. So yeah! I think Gaige's outfit would be pretty lore friendly and also looks really nice. If someone is interested in doing this, I could definitely do more scouting to find more vanilla or mod pieces to help ease the workload. I don't know much about creating mods, but I'd assume its slightly easier if a lot of it is splicing pieces instead of building from the ground up. Deleted54207112User
if u want to do an armor mashup since u mentioned those different armor pieces to use theres a good tutorial herehttps://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/56009/
devinpatterson
Excellent job scouting assets RandomCitizen1. When I see the OP has put some real work into his/her request I truly appreciate it. I'v done and continue to do armor mashups however I don't have much in the way of free time anymore  But maybe I can help out. Here is a suggestion for the mechanical arm, pic; I know it doesn't look like your pic above but it's an open asset provided by Tumbajamba and it's a quick solution. Only took a few minutes to whip this one up....essentially it's dependent on the shoulder and I bet we could find something that works.
RandomCitizen1
Firstly, apologies for the late response. Real life difficulties cropped up and I had zero time for literally anything lol. I would've replied much quicker, but... all I can do is apologize. I'm sorry for that. As for actual responses: if u want to do an armor mashup since u mentioned those different armor pieces to use theres a good tutorial herehttps://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/56009/ This is a wonderful resource in general. I'll absolutely look into the guide. If push comes to shove, I'll have to be the one to do it but... I am hoping for a more experienced hand. We'll see. Thank you so much though ^^Excellent job scouting assets RandomCitizen1. When I see the OP has put some real work into his/her request I truly appreciate it. I'm a newb when it comes to this, but I did my best to think of what would be most useful thing I could do to support my "patron" I guess might be the word, haha. I definitely understand not having the free time (that said, if you happen to feel vaguely bored with a lot of time on your hands and a desire to make Borderlands material for New Vegas.... well, you know where I am :3) That all said, your link is positively beautiful <3 It isn't exactly like Gaige's, no, but I was never expecting an exact look-alike. In fact, I thought it might be sort of cooler if it had subtle differences, and maybe somehow a slightly more Fallout-aesthetic (tho I still think Gaige is already close to that aesthetic). But yeah, that arm is great!! I looked up the modder and found what the shoulder looks like. I'd say the torso harness would be cropped off for this armor, which is probably obvious, but I like it a lot. It's already close to the same grey-rust color scheme too so it wouldn't really need much alteration. If a finished Gaige Armor was ever created, maybe we could develop a closer look-alike to Gaige as an alternate, but I'm definitely digging the way the arm looks already. Just putting the armor link here for future reference:https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/14676?tab=description Edited July 10, 2018 by RandomCitizen1
devinpatterson
No problem I totally understand in re: to time. I'll try and help out though, and heck maybe others will pitch in. It's no problem rigging the arm to whatever our final outfit is. The only requirement would be patience, because sometimes I don't get a chance to mod for days, or longer
RandomCitizen1
Not a worry, not a worry. Im in no rush. This is just brainstorming ideas, collecting assets for a friendly modder. Personally.... I have issues with downloading hair mods. I know how, but its a hassles. I wonder if it might be possible to do a head piece/wig for something pretty close to Gaige's hair with the goggles on her forehead. I already know of a goggle head mod, but I've never come across the right hair. I sort of scanned Crazy Hairs and the other one who's name I forget, but I dont 'think' its there. Was hard for me to tell.
