fiveleaf
Hey guys, I've spent probably 10hrs trying to get fallout to work on this PC. Re-downloaded the game, played with system settings, running in legacy mode for WinXP (SP3), and other "solutions". Nothing has worked so far, but you seem like the most knowledgeable group I've come across in the last few days. Anyways, I can load into the main menu, click "start new" (there are no saved games to resume), and watch the intro video. I then go to the loading screen which loads for a bit, then the game crashes. Every time. I'm running Win7 x64 on an Asus Rampage III Extreme, 6Gb tr-channel Corsair Dominator memory, & an Asus 5850 TOP GPU. All hardware has been clocked stable and cool under various stress tests. Game is run from an SSD (for both the disc image and install directory). I am not using steam. I'm not sure how to find/post my load order. The following is a copy/paste of the error message (problem signature): Problem signature: Problem Event Name: APPCRASH Application Name: FalloutNV.exe Application Version: 1.2.0.314 Application Timestamp: 4cfdf842 Fault Module Name: FalloutNV.exe Fault Module Version: 1.2.0.314 Fault Module Timestamp: 4cfdf842 Exception Code: c0000005 Exception Offset: 007523c9 OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.1 Locale ID: 1033 Additional Information 1: 0a9e Additional Information 2: 0a9e372d3b4ad19135b953a78882e789 Additional Information 3: 0a9e Additional Information 4: 0a9e372d3b4ad19135b953a78882e789 Buy the game, problem solved. rxmonste
The problem here is Piracy, man. you just said that you "downloaded" FNV without steam. Steam has a digital download feature for people who buy their games. and if you diden't download it with steam then you did it from an illegal site. Heh, sorry to sound your alarm bells :)Redownloaded from FTP server. I'm just mounting the original disc image... No piracy issue here. Keeping discs this way is just a far better solution that using physical CD's. Edited May 19, 2012 by fiveleaf
