2 fps when looking at characters

Hi there,

I've made a new install of legendary edition with tons and tons of mods. More precisely, I'm trying to get this install to work properly.

It looks like I'm not having anymore CTDs at the moment but the game is still unplayable as I'm having huge FPS drops whenever I'm looking at other characters.

I installed a bunch of visual enhancements and an ENB (caffeine) but the problem only occurs when I'm looking at people in the intro. For instance, if I look down at the ground, i get 60 fps, at the sky 60fps, at trees and buildings 60fps... But whenever I turn the camera towards a bunch of people like there is in the intro scene at Helgen, the game almost freezes.

 

I'm here to see if anyone thinks that one mod or category of mod (character models, animations, combat mods...) is likely to cause this kind of issue. I tried uninstalling ELFX but it had no noticeable effect, and I removed HDT physics and all my HDT dependent mods but it did nothing either.

If you skip the intro using the alternate start mod, does the problem still occur or is it only during the intro sequence?

If it still happens, I'd recommend deactivating any mods that alters character models, if the problem still happens, I have no clue. But if not, reactivate all these mods one by one to find out which is causing the problem. (And yes, this will get very tedious but it's all I got)

Thanks ! I was using the vanilla intro as some kind of benchmark to check that everything was ok but I'll try skipping it...

So you'd recommand removing the mods that changes the characters models rather than all the animations mods ?

So here's what I have tried so far...

I moved to markrath using Alternate start to check that the problem wasn't occuring only with people and creatures that are only present in the vanilla intro

I removed pretty much all my mods which change characters textures and models

I removed all my animations mods and XPMSE + FNIS

I deactivated my ENB

 

I'm looking for other suspects... Camera mods ? Mods that add NPCs ?
