JortsMaster
So I've been modding for the past several months, with a few bumps in the road but found it fun and a fresh experience to the game. However as I keep going on through my adventures, I notice that I needed to save my game very frequently. I downloaded some big mods such as AWOP, WarZones, Electro-City, Eve, and so on. Now as I keep going on I keep encountering glitches, and bugs left and right. Most of the time it's my screen turning black and nothing I can do can switch to another browser or tab. One time when walking back to Novac I encountered a large piece of land that wasn't rendered right, and crashes right there. I even get stuck with the loading screens, and the Novac gift shop loading incorrectly, with words that cannot describe the mess. I now believe that it's my computer which I have owned for about 4 years now, and I think I may either have to clean it up since it gets dust sometimes, or get a new graphics card. Have you ever encountered these problems, if so let me know. If you also have any questions, let me know as well!
dubiousintent
Certainly you need to occasionally (every month or so) clean the dust out of your computer. When it builds up it allows electric "short circuits" to occur between components and causes various glitches. In the same vein you need to periodically defragment a hard disk drive. Both are "first steps" to try when you start having problems. A 4 year old system might be starting to develop problems, but it also might carry on for several more years. "Heat" is it's biggest enemy. As a very general "rule of thumb": if a problem is intermittent and unpredictable it's more likely to be failing hardware. Software problems tend to be repeatable under the same conditions. (As with most "rules of thumb", there are exceptions to both those guides.) There are a number of problems that can occur with the game. You need to eliminate them one by one until you have a stable, basically problem free game. Start by reading the wiki "FNV General Mod Use Advice" article. Once you have been through the 'Common Problems" section, bring any remaining issue back here, along with ALL the information requested in the wiki "How to ask for help" article. Don't forget to identify things that do not appear in the "load order", such as NVSE and it's related plugins, texture replacements (specifically their larger image sizes: 1024x1024, etc.), and "post-processors" like ENB or SweetFX.-Dubious-
