A little help for my weapon (Pixelhate, where are you? XD)

Hello guys.

I need a super Nifskope savant for this.

https://files.fm/u/ej5y3w72

This custom weapon has two things going on. One is the flame of gehenna. And other is the material of cosmic heat knife, in the blade.

Ok, the fire have custom meshe, but since I copy all the atributes from the gehenna fire, works very well, wich means that the fire extinguishes when the weapon is not wielded.

What I would like was for this property to be also applied to the blade material. Then when the gun was around the waist, it was cold and only when it was taken out, that the super-hot effect would appear.

It's possible?

I haven't looked at (or used in game) the super heated knife (or looked at your file), so I could be totally wrong on this....but I think two ways spring to mind.

One would be a texture swap. Euclid's C-Finder is a good example for a texture swap, but you will have to use an object script.

The other would be a niViscontroller and actually having two blades, one cold, one hot. If it's under the normal conventions (I'm thinking it's like ##Vis or something) it should swap out when it's sheathed. I'll try and find some time to take a look (a little more in detail) and maybe perhaps even provide a more cogent reply (hope springs eternal).

Super cool. Fire is viscontroller.

Forget this file then, let me make a new one with two blades and no fire (i copy the fire block later). One blade will have it normal material and another the material from the knife (with my personal customization)

Hey! Is this still a thing? I somehow miss your call.

Nah that´s ok, I'd rather you take another question from me.

I have a asset with two blocks, bouth with alpha textures. But the value for the flags and threshold for their NiAlpha controler are different.

What I do is export the separate blocks, fix the NiAlpha separately and then I join them through the copy / paste block, because if I export both together, I can not fiddle with those controllers, because one copy what was done in the other

There is a better way to do that?
