Spewed
I'm just trying to take modded house and move it somewhere else in the game world as I detest it's location and would like to see it somewhere else that I feel it belongs. The home that I want to move is "The Reserve", and I simply want to put it in the "Lost Valley Redoubt" area, as I find that is a truly beautiful spot, and a great place for that home as well. What can I do to simply move locations? Is it as simple as copying and pasting the home its self and putting it elsewhere?
ResolveThatChord
Yes, it is. No- wait- you'll have to do the navmesh again. You should never move objects between cells; it'll cause all kinds of ugly errors. However, creating a new reference by copy-pasting into a new cell is fine. Just be wary of things like linked doors. In the CK, Ctrl+click all the objects you need to copy, and hit ctrl+C to copy. Then move to the cell you want, and Ctrl+V to paste it in there. You'll almost certainly have to do some terrain editing to get it to fit. You'll also probably have to move things out of the way. Try not to delete anything (can cause in-game scripts to fail), and remember that you'll have to re-navmesh around everything you move, so try to make as few changes as possible. Once you're happy with object placement, it's time to Navmesh. If you've never done it before, check out part IV of this lesson, and parts II to III of this lesson. Finally, you'll have to change the original location back to vanilla. Unfortunately, the mod cleaning features of the CK suck. Soon there'll be TESVEdit to help with that, but for now try saving, then going into "data", selecting your mod, and selecting "details". this will list all the changes the mod has made: delete everything that references the original cell. Hope this helps. Let us know how it goes!
