hello, i am new to modding, and having this problem. using the tutorial on the wikki page, i can create the mesh and texture the armor now without to much difficulty, then i use nifscope to prepare it for skyrim, seems to work fine, the meshes all appear and everything looks fine, but when i equip in game, the game crashes to desktop. some searching and reading, the only thing i found was that the body parts were not named correctly, but loading the original armor and my modded armor, all the body part names match, any other reason why it would crash?

I've had this problem before. If I recall correctly I had to re-export the model.

Make sure you delete all skeletons, save the file, close and re-open before importing your skeleton and exporting the file.

Also make sure that you remove any children from and delete the scene root ninode in nifskope.

Thanks for the reply, i tried your suggestion, but no luck. What i did notice, however, i remove the parts of the armor from the children details like the tutorial says to, and then delete the root scene, but the skeleton disappears when the root scene is deleted, is this normal, or should i remove all the parts of the skeleton from the children details also?
