Mod Conversion to Frosty from daimod

Hi there. I'm trying to convert some mods I use to Frosty. Mostly texture mods since Frosty Mod Manager seems to have trouble auto converting those. The thing is, I'm a total newbie at any form of modding. I've read what tutorials I can find and I'm still scratching my head. If someone is willing to convert these mods for me or teach me how to do so I would be very grateful.

Note: I will NOT be posting these mods anywhere for download/claiming as mine and, from what I can find, the authors have left the modding scene. If I'm wrong I will gladly contact the author of the mod for permissions/see if they are willing to convert it. But a lot of the modders have not been active for years on the Nexus and their tumblrs (if I can find one) are gone/not active.

Thank you for your time and consideration,

Dziva

I can't seem to figure out how to get a mesh or texture from a daimod. I can find the files I need to export easily enough but when I try to export them the option is greyed out. As that is the only way I know of to get something from a daimod I have no idea where to go from here.

Well the first thing to know is that you can't do meshes in Frosty yet, so don't bother with those.

Just to be sure that you're doing it correctly...

- To export a texture from a daimod, you first need to load up the mod. In the DAI Mod Maker, File > Open, or File > Import.

- Then you navigate to whatever texture you need. Open that texture by double-click. In the new Asset Preview window, hit Import/Export, then Export Asset.

If that's not working and the option is grayed out, try an older version of Mod Maker. v19 has problems with images, so try v16 or v17 instead.

If it's still grayed out, be sure that SlimDX is properly installed. This is required. Download and install both versions -- for .NET 2.0 and 4.0. Use the .NET 4.0 x64 one if on a 64-bit OS.

See this troubleshooting thread for more tips.

You should be aware that Frosty is a bit different with some textures, so you may have to convert them. Please read this.
