scot
According to the lore, if two different races have a child that child will most likely be the same race as the mother, so any race can be a dragon born. You can imagine playing as a dwemer that was in a sleeping stasis through time and he was a child of a dragon born and a dwemer woman, with dwemer everything is possible since we don´t really know much about them. marharth
I like that it is hard to follow the lore, and you have to read in game books and stuff to actually know the story. It improves immersion. Also the dragonborn is not supposed to be the high king, the dragonborn is supposed to be emperor. GoodfellowGoodspring
Ive only played Oblivion in the Edler Scrolls series and had problems settling down and playing Skyrim because it had a dominating race and look, Oblivion had way more variety even though you saw more Imperials, Cyrodill seemed to be diverse where as Skyrim is populated by mainly Nords and i struggle to play anything else or understand why an outsider would be interested in helping out with the civil war.. ShAd0wC4t
-SPOILERS-The invasion of Daedra from Oblivion drove people out of the lands of Cyrodill. There was some kind of volcanic eruption in Morrowind too I think, so many of all the races flocked to Skyrim to escape. It says this in the game I forget where. Probably some book. I don't understand why people see Skyrim as only Nord land. Sure it may belong to the Nords, but it's common knowledge that people throughout history migrate. There's a lot more underlining the reasons for the other races, and their roles then Bethusda is given credit, but by all means play a Nord. Who's discriminating? I on the other hand prefer to use ~imagination~ I like Skyrim's story even if the Dragonborn quest line seemed too short, and lacking room for much else other then "saving the world from Alduin". I would have liked to have had dialogue with dragons, or hey, even joined Alduin's side. Now that would have been interesting! I miss Cryodill's diversity so much. and nord racism seems to detract from my enjoyment of Skyrim too. Yes, I prefer happy-go-lucky sugar-and-rainbows in my games. Skyrim seems depressing compared to Oblivion. But I still love Skyrim. And the Ai was bonkers in oblivion. :)
Rennn
Imperials ARE Nords lorewise, they may have become different in culture and the land has shaped their bodies different, but in the end they're both the same race (The Imperial race didn't even exist before Oblivion),Just a minor point, Imperials were introduced as a playable race in Morrowind. Morrowind and Oblivion (TES III and TES IV) took place at the same time only in different areas of Tamriel.I beleive the timeline is rather linear and runs in the following fashion; note that a few years seperate each Arena in 3E 399 Daggerfall in 3E 405 - 3E 417Morrowind takes place in 3E 427 - 3E 429 Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion 3E 433 - 4E 1 Oblivion had to take place slightly after Morrowind, because in Morrowind it's discovered who the Nerevarine is, and in Oblivion you hear people talking about how she's/he's disappeared.
