LE Using a spell while holding a bow

Hey,

 

Having to switch every time you want to cast a spell is pretty annoying as an archer. So what about a pretty simple idea (the idea is, I don’t know about the execution): a mod that allows to use a spell with the right hand while holding a bow. Since right-click is used for blocking with the bow, it would require to use another key either for blocking or for casting said spell though.

Kind of, yes. Except you still can’t hold a second weapon. The point is simply to be able to cast a spell while the bow (and thus your right hand) is not being used rather than having to switch.

Two handed melee weapons are quite heavy and need to be held with both hands unless you are resting it against your shoulder or the ground.

 

Bows are light enough to hold in one hand while touch typing on a keyboard with the other hand. (if I had a one handed keyboard)

 

Hence, it makes sense you should be able to equip right handed spells while holding a bow in your left hand.

 

You either draw the bow, in which case you cannot use the equipped spell. Or you are charging and casting the spell in which case you shouldn't be able to draw the bow.

 

I think this is a great idea. No idea if it's possible though.

There is a mod that allows parry with dual weilding. I'm sure a closer look at how this mod is written would allow a similar configuration for spell fire while holding a bow.

 

This mod also is set up for use with and without skse.
