MasterDRD Posted July 26, 2008 Author Posted July 26, 2008 Well since said pose is already done, wouldn't it be simple enough to slightly modify the current animation to fit walking and running? Say, use the current files as a base, and change the legs for movement? (and maybe add some 'bobbing effects' to the sword arm) Of course, there's still the matter of the 1st person view animations. But I would think, considering all you can see of your own body in 1st is your arms and the empty arm would be offscreen, all that would need to be changed is the sword arm.
Reepimeister Posted July 26, 2008 Posted July 26, 2008 possibly, but you couldn't do it without the original animator's permission... and an animator willing to do it. From what I understand, animating an idle pose is easier in every way than animating a mobile pose - maths enters into it and then we're all stuffed. Why not use the one-handed sword first person anims in place of the two-handed?

Why not use the one-handed sword first person anims in place of the two-handed? I do. However, it's not much different, since the sword still covers just as much screenspace. (for example, Soul Edge is a huge sword and in 1st person it covers half the screen, and that's with either 1 or 2 handed poses...) The whole point is for the sword to be in the same position as the pictures in post #1 anyway.
DogtoothCG Posted July 26, 2008 Posted July 26, 2008 you could just replace the first person animation with your edited 3rd person, its really easy

Anyway, even then that only helps with idle, there still aren't animations for walking/running...
DogtoothCG Posted July 28, 2008 Posted July 28, 2008 you open the skeleton in 3ds max, import the animation, click export, export as kf. without nif and save under the name of whatever it is you want it to be

I'm not a modder, I'm not an animator, and I'm not a model maker. My modding abilities involve renaming .esps, and possibly opening then up to change a number or two... (and only then if I know exactly what needs to be changed...)
DogtoothCG Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 then find someoen who will do it, called research man, theres few people on this site who can animate, i only know of three by name. me, slof, and saiden storm. theyre usually busy, and im working on a very large scale mod so i cant help you, but look around, theres always people you wouldnt expect. dig deep and find someone who likes the idea and get them to do it
MasterDRD Posted July 31, 2008 Author Posted July 31, 2008 That's why I called this topic Animator Needed, so any animators going through this subforum would check it out...
