wootwoot55
So i can now make custom weapons for skyrim except...i have no idea how big there supposed to be when modeling because i dont know how to get a reference model into the 3d modeling software like blender. I know 3ds max has a plugin but the newest version of the plugin says 3ds max 2011 would it work with 3ds max 2012 or 2013? http://i45.tinypic.com/1hdlzk.jpg here's a link to my weapon in game
gasti89
I can't help you, but just let me say that you should release a mod with the weapon in the pic! I can't stop laughing, amazing! :)
biggestkid
There a few ways you could do this: 1) You could just scale it down in nifskope, and just try a couple of times until you get it just about right in-game. That would be the simplest way. 2) Otherwise load a vanilla sword into nifskope, make sure it is selected, and go to File > Export > Export .obj and save it somewhere. You should then be able to load the .obj file of the vanilla sword into blender(assuming blender can open .obj files) and resize your sword using the vanilla sword as a size reference. A lot of people seem to be forgetting that you can do this to get a mesh out of skyrim and into a 3d modeling program. You dont always need to go directly from Skyrim to 3dsmax/blender by importing a .nif, you can export the mesh inside the .nif and load that into your modeling program of choice, yeh its a little longer(about 3 seconds) but stop being lazy people haha. Also that picture is HILARIOUS haha! Maybe you should just leave it like that :P (only joking) Hope i could be of some help mate, big Edited May 22, 2012 by biggestkid

godball50
I really don't understand why people want weapons that look like they weigh twice as much as the average person can lift, let alone swing. I mean, come ON! http://static-8.nexusmods.com/15/mods/110/images/61995-2-1423762758.jpg
