Copying entire cells/worldspaces

Hey guys,

 

I am looking at creating a quick mini-mod which introduces a small island just off the coast of Skyrim. However i do not want to have to landscape this entire island by hand, and i dont not want to bother with heightmaps just yet(i will later, but for now this is just for testing purposes, to see if what i have in mind for my mod will work).

 

So i was maybe looking at just taking the entire area around the Whiterun Hold(maybe from Whiterun City to Rorikstead east to west, and from the two mountain ranges that border this area from north to south to give you an idea of the size) and duplicating that and using this as my small test island. Obviously i would want all the terrain, the objects(such as trees, cliffs, rocks, etc etc) and just about everything else in this area to be duplicated too.

 

So is this at all possible? If so how would i go about doing this?

 

Like i said before, if i have to use height maps i will, but at the moment i want to avoid using them.

You may copy worldspaces, but you may not copy exterior cells. So for your island in the Tamriel worldspace, you will need to use Landscape Editor in the CK. (Turn the sensitivity settings up high to do rough work like quickly raising an island from the sea floor.) You may copy and paste landscaping clutter.

Ok so it seems that i would be better off using heightmaps for this then.

 

In that case, how big is Skyrim in kilometers? Im planning on using World Machine 2 for this project(to create heightmap) and was wondering how big i need to set my land size to get a small size island in skyrim. I was messing around with 16km x 16km but that was just a test, and i dont know how big that would end up in Skyrim.
