d4em
Hi ;] First of all, I am pretty sure this is a phyton only issue, and I have searched through about 100 pages of google search, but I simply coudn't find a fix. Each time i start blender I get this error:Compiled with Python version 2.6.2.'import site' failed; use -v for tracebackChecking for installed Python... No installed Python found.Only built-in modules are available. Some scripts may not run.Continuing happily. I have reinstalled pretty much every version of phyton a thousand times after cleaning every single phyton related file, and I can't find the error. Thanks for reading and please please help
Werne
Which Blender version are you using? Blender 2.49b works on Python 2.6.6 if you're using that one.
d4em
I followed the installation guide by LHammonds HereThat makes for blender 2.49b (all later versions annoy me due to the new interface)I tried all phyton versions from 2.5 to the latest
Werne
I found some threads on different forums with some users saying something about "set script path" function to get Blender to set the path to Python scripts. Some more digging and I found how to do it, here you go. Try that and see what happens. Edited May 22, 2012 by Werne
d4em
Thanks for the help, but that does not seem to be the issue. The phyton script path is correct, however "import site" fails, which seems to be an phyton issue only. I have all my default blender script there and working, it's just the new plugins (like nif scripts) that won't work. Still, thanks for sticking with me here. Kudo'd. Edit---------------------------YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH OHYEAH WHOOOOFixed it, only took me 6 months >.>Turns out my environment variables were damagedThis post told me how to fix it.Going to mod the hell out of skyrim now :) Edited May 22, 2012 by FakePersonality
Werne
I'm glad you could make it work. And 6 months? I'd snap if I couldn't make mods with Blender for 6 months (I kind of got addicted to it).
d4em
Yeah... actually switched from modding to making games with unity, which allows for direct import from .blend ;p I'd just go mad if I were not to model for 6 months
