OBmodist
I've installed FCOM in the past. The last time I attempted it, I did absolutely everything right as listed on here: http://devnull.sweetdanger.net/fcominstall.html And yet the program still had issues and didn't work right when I ran it. I almost cried when I saw "FCOM Superpack" posted - a special package that made installing FCOM easier. But some people got their pants in a bunch about it, specifically people from the FCOM team. And now the uploader and his upload are gone. Look FCOM team, we appreciate all the work you've put in. I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say that the project is amazing, and I can't imagine the hours it's taken to carry it this far. BUT... maybe if you guys made it easier to install, other people wouldn't have to do that part for you. =/ So you shouldn't complain when that happens, even without your permission. I mean, it's ridiculous the amount of steps it takes just to get a mod to work, regardless of its size and scope. If I'm being completely honest, FCOM is too complicated to be worth it. If I can do absolutely everything right and it still doesn't work, it needs improvement. I want to play FCOM, but I don't want to invest all of that time and energy into installing it once again only to have it not work right again. So I guess what I'm asking is... is there an easier way to install FCOM? Edited May 22, 2012 by OBmodist
AlfredTetzlaff
Hi,the Install Instructions given in the most recent "official" FCOM Thread over at Bethesda are the correct ones. That Thread also would be the right place for your complaints or any other Problems with FCOM ;)Regarding the first Link you've posted, that Info is pretty much outdated. OBmodist
That Thread also would be the right place for your complaints or any other Problems with FCOM ;)It would be, but replying is disabled for it. =/I'll try the instructions in that thread for FCOM though. Maybe this time it'll work out better for me. I have to ask though, is FCOM a massive improvement over just OOO? Because I was considering just installing OOO. But if FCOM is that much cooler...And do any of the FCOM mods change the broken level up mechanic by the way?
DrakeTheDragon
It would be, but replying is disabled for it. =/ It doesn't look like that. It's just the latest change to their site layout removed the Reply button from the bottom of the thread. There's still one on the top right, and the quick response field below the topic works like a charm.

I thought that was still the Nexus. No wonder I can't reply, I don't have an account logged in there. Edited May 23, 2012 by OBmodist
