3demons
Hey guys, i want to say thanks in advance for any answers and help for this topic. I just wanted to mod the game myself, and i want to start small like modding the weight of a bow. I have never modded for this game before. what programs do i need to mod? and what files do i mod to get this desired effect? thanks!
Rennn
Get the Creation Kit from Steam. In order to do something simple, like change the stats on a bow, the Creation Kit plus a legitimate install of Skyrim is all you need. Once you start the CK, go to "File" in the top left corner, then click "Data", then check the box by the Skyrim.esm, and hit "okay". That'll load the things from the vanilla Skyrim game for you to modify. In this case, you'll want to find the piece of equipment to modify in the object window near the left side of the screen. Once you find the bow or whatever you want to edit, you can save it as an .esp and activate it in your launcher or in the Mod Manager, just like most other mods. If you mess up, you can always just delete the .esp you created and Skyrim should go back to normal. Edited May 23, 2012 by Rennn
