sjohnson89
i'm toying with the pauldrons right now. rotated their position and made them a little bigger to make them similar to classic version's pauldrons (please ignore the missing parts or texture mismatches)
sjohnson89
nexus wont let me upload them to a single post... as you can see the screws are placed wrong because of the rotation. i dont know how to fix that...as an amateur everything seems close to impossible after some point. do you think using fo4 legs is better or this one? i'm trying to maintain the classic design anyway i can. btw i noticed the floating pauldron problem again when firing. i guess making the pauldrons parallel to the ground is too problematic to handle please let me know what you think. i'm not giving this one up, lets make a proper t51b this game and the community deserves. we may not be able to upload it to nexus but at least gunetwork allows it Edited July 22, 2018 by sjohnson89
devinpatterson
used dragbody's fo4 t51b shoulderguards. obviously it needs some fine tuning. Hi sjohnson89, I appreciate your enthusiasm and patience, but I haven't had any free time for fallout this week. However I'll try and help out when I can. The first thing I'd do is ditch dragbody's fo4 t51b pauldrons if they aren't 100% clean (ie use no fo4 assets). You don't want to contaminate the model with copyright issues. If his assets are just a remake from scratch and dragbody gives his blessing then you can ignore my ramblings. btw i noticed the floating pauldron problem again when firing. i guess making the pauldrons parallel to the ground is too problematic to handle I'll try to take a closer look when I have more time, but are you sure that they are weighting appropriately to the pauldrons. Remember power armor is probably the only model that is definitely going to need to take advantage of the two special bones made for it (Bip01 LPauldron and Bip01 RPauldron). It's probably not your issue but worth checking. We should probably have a way to exchange files easily so I can take a look at your nifs.
sjohnson89
hello to you too my friend! dont worry about it, i was busy tweaking t51b+midwest power armor models. they proved to be a really good learning ground for me, i'll release two bulked-up midwest armor models (along with proper power armor greaves!), three if i can manage to somehow change the shape. and yeah, dragbody uses fo4 assets but correct me if i'm wrong, eventhough nexus prohibits uploading assets of other games as long as we are not making any money from the mod it shouldnt be a problem, or am i told wrong? i cant upload files to nexus anymore i guess i used all of my limit ^^ this is the latest version i came up with. some parts are still missing, my primary focus was on maintaining a good look without looking fat. https://pasteboard.co/HvGFjoq.jpg i ditched rotated pauldrons because floating was too annoying for my tastes. i dont think this is a problem, basically when you aim, pauldrons move higher but because of the shape of t51b pauldrons they have this...stupid looking wing like apperance when they move. so i think this works best can i pm you for easier communication? Alas it doesn't really matter whether it's a paid mod or not, you don't want to include any fallout 4 assets (or any other authors assets withot permission), because it could jepordize your mod. You could put a lot of work into it and a moderator would have to take it down because of copyright issues. this is the latest version i came up with. some parts are still missing, my primary focus was on maintaining a good look without looking fat. Looking good  can i pm you for easier communication? sure, but I prefer an open forum because other members may be able to help out if are able to observe what your doing. sjohnson89
found a volunteer that wanted to work on the textures. i dont think we'll be able to upload it to nexus when we are done but it'll be publicly accessible
sjohnson89
105 views and all of the posts are coming from literally the dialogue of two guys, eventhough i asked specifically for guidance at the beginning. because typing things like "change the color to this" "make this part bigger/smaller" is super hard, right guys? shame... ^that message was aimed at to the people that just want to download mods, to the people who never contribute to anything, never say anything to anyone. if you are one of the valuable contributors of this community, please ignore the text above. devin, i'll probably end up uploading to gunetwork or somewhere like that. drag doesnt require permission as long as credits are given. That's cool that he doesn't require permission. Another alternative would be to make an analog of the pauldrons (your just using the pauldrons from his/fo4's model right?). I mean they are pretty detailed but it's still a fraction of the whole model. And as long as your not using the original asset, a similar looking model is completely legit. sjohnson89
make an analog of the pauldrons? i forgot to tell, the pictures are actually taken with fo4 helmet but thats not important, nv version is almost identical. i just want to replicate the super clean looking textures of that helmet to the non-green parts. thats exactly how i want my t51b to look like.
