Lordspencer
Let me start by saying I have fully searched the forums for answers and have found none for my particular problem. Running windows 7, 64 bit home premium. Im trying to install several clothing mods, but none have worked for me. It is either the ever constant red exclamation mark or when I put on any clothing mods my character becomes entirely invisible except for the head, hands, and feet. I have tried to manually add mods to my data folder, meshes and all, and I have also tried to install them via the Mod Manager. Nothing seems to work for me. Also, I have also installed each mods prerequisite mod as well, so Im not lacking any files. I have the directory right. So can anyone help me out? The one mod Im trying to install foremost is the Rikai ghost armor mod. This leave my character with the invisible glitch. Any help?
bben46
Most likely you have a file structure problem. Clothing etc are actually meshes and textures without a esp part. The meshes and textures should go into the meshes and textures sub folders - FalloutNewVegas\Data\meshes and FalloutNewVegas\data\Textures. Normally copying the entire data folder from the mod will place them in the proper locations and even create any subfolders that don't exist. The most common problem I have seen is an extra data folder (Game\data\data\subfolders with the meshes and textures folders inside the second data folder. If this is you problem - easy fix. MOVE the CONTENTS of the second data folder into the first data folder. Then (make sure the second data is now empty) delete the second data folder. Another possibility is if the install asks you about overwriting files you refuse. If you do that then it will not install those meshes or textures. Always accept the overwrite - It doesn't actually overwrite anything - it actually appends the new stuff onto the old stuff. (An exception would be if a new file has the exact same name as the old - This will be very rare and an error on the part of the modder)
