RichardCMongler
Any estimates on how long a mod like this would take to make?

RichardCMongler
So would any modders out there actually consider making a mod like this? Or am I dreaming a south paw's unrealistic dream?
Exodus1161
ok it's not as simple as just "flipping" the skeleton, you would have to do it to EVERY animation used by the player and rename EVERY bone other wise it animation will be incomprehensible, then if you try and run the game, guess what? the armor and clothing would be screwed, because part of the armor are coded to attach to certain BIPS on the skeleton so the armor would be crossed over with immense amount of clipping, so that would all have to change. a project like this, i would give the vicinity of 7-8 months, also it would mean you couldn't use any custom armor unless it was modified like people have done for Exnems bodies. sorry to give such bad new, but it happens
RichardCMongler
vulk, sounds brutal. Lol - can someone just invert the entire horizontal display settings minus the HUD then? Exodus1161
That my friend would take even longer I think... probably, cause then the terrain would have to be flipped along with the control sets, otherwise when you move your move left it will look right and you will get lost quickly in a flipped oblivion environment

RichardCMongler
Can't you just alter the game's display code instead of the x values for every single asset? For example, Uncharted Drake's Fortune had an option for "mirror mode" where it would horizontally flip the entire display instantly with the press of a button. I'm sure it's a lot simpler than you're thinking. But you're saying if that was done, the controls would also be mirrored (eg pressing left would still move you 'left' but it'd look right due to the mirrored world). Could I just remap the controls? :P
shadowace
Oblivion isn't set up like that, you can't just flip the x values of so and so, with the click of a button. It would take way too much work to make this mod.
