Plaster422
So after a while, I thought that I might want to play Skyrim again, but when I start it, it just crashes at the black screen before the Bethesda logo. I have tried, disabling all my mods, verifying game cache, cleaning my mods with tes5edit + loot shows me that I have 0 errors. Then I tried a clean install, but it still just crashes before it gets to the Bethesda logo. The crash log just shows this:[07/14/2018 - 05:51:13PM] Papyrus log opened (PC)[07/14/2018 - 05:51:13PM] Function GetEffectMagnitudes in the empty state on type Ingredient does not exist. wfandrews
What do you mean by a "clean install"? If what you are doing is uninstalling Skyrim through Steam by using "delete local content" you are not getting a clean install; that leaves a few hundred files behind. Google "making a vanilla Skyrim" or words to that effect and you will get a few tutorials on how to get a vanilla Skyrim, just pick one that you like as they all do the same thing. Alternately I would try validating your master files first. This entails deleting Skyrim's app cache, going to Documents/My Games/Skyrim and deleting Skyrim.ini and Skyrim Prefs.ini then shut down your computer for about ten minutes or so. Start up your computer and open Steam, rt. click on Skyrim, go to properties then local files, click on "verify local files" let it run and download the files that it needs to. Launch Skyrim through the Steam launcher to create the files you have deleted and set your options again. You will have to clean your master files again. This is usually the first thing I try when my game goes a bit squirrely as it is a relatively easy operation as opposed to installing and uninstalling your game or mods.
