luddemann
Ok, I just came up with a great plan. We all miss the arena from Oblivion, and there have been many poor efforts to make an arena for Skyrim. Often the worst thing is the voice acting, and here is the solution: How about building the whole bloodworks and using the same characters and voices from Oblivion? Its been such a long time since I played Oblivion that I wouldn't mind hearing Owyn's poor jokes once more. PLUS: the adoring fan would return! Now that would be great wouldnt it?! I have really no idea how to do this, but maybe an experienced author could do it?
JanusForbeare
That would be a copyright violation. Porting assets from other titles is prohibited unless the owner says otherwise.
Veridis
That would be a copyright violation. Porting assets from other titles is prohibited unless the owner says otherwise. Is the problem that the mod would contain copyrighted data or is it the actual converting from Oblivion to Skyrim? It could be possible to write a utility or patch that allows Skyrim to include the oblivion.esm files or a converter it to the new format. This wouldn't contain any of the copyrighted data as it would just be a conversion tool or patch, people would need to own Oblivion in order for it to work. All this is theory, though I heard andoran were working on a converter and the file format isn't a secret. Edited May 23, 2012 by Veridis
luddemann
Well, I thought of that too, but both are Bethesda games. Maybe the author would have to email them, but I really cant see why they would have a problem with it. Bioware let modders use items from DA2 in origins...
