cdiddy
Got a quest from the inn keeper to go check this place out. I don't want to spoil the quest so I will try not to but apart of the quest is to go collect a journal. Normally whenever I go pick up books I will simply open them and close them just to see if I get a skill increase but for some reason I decided to read this one and was in quit shocked after I found out what was written in it by a loony toon was true. Anyone else remember that and got a kick out of it? Edited May 24, 2012 by cdiddy
RedRavyn
Actually, this belongs in Spoilers because what you just posted is a spoiler. There is nothing in the quest to retrieve a journal. You're investigating a haunted barrow, according to the innkeeper, who has no clue there's even a journal of any kind in the place. As for skill books, no journal is a skill book in this game. The way you can tell is to look at the value. If it's 50 Septims or over it's most likely a skill book. If it's under 50 Septims, it isn't -- at least I've never encountered a skill book in Skyrim that has a value under that.
xlcr
@cdiddy, yep Wyndelius Gatharian was an obsessed nutjob lol, completing all the elements of Shroud Hearth Barrow/Depths and quest Lifting the Shroud was fun.As a Skyrim adventurer you'll encounter lots of journals, these diaries are a welcome addition from the devs that enhance storytelling, fill in the gaps, and sometimes anintegral scripted part of quest stages. Have fun!"Leave this place... Leave this place... Leave... Leave... Leave...!" ―Wyndelius Gatharian
