So, a couple days after killing Calixto during Blood on the Ice, I tossed a modded item into his inventory since I was too lazy to add it to a chest.

 

Then, I spawned a fresh copy of him to 'acquire' my stuff, and in a wistfully smug tone:

And what did you expect? He's a skilled necromancer after all! Wait a couple of centuries and he'll become a kind of Dragon Priest!

Yeah, because hes a set NPC, if you attack and kill him, in the save file, a global will change from

NPCattackedbyplayer=0

to

NPCattackedbyplayer=1

and from then on, theyll say things like, Please, dont hit me again and the ilk, its really funny!

And that is why I quicksaved my game and kept loading until I properly decapitated Calixto. He disturbed me to the point where he had to be utterly destroyed to the point he'd be unresurrectable.
