Shadowcran
Hello, as you can tell, I'm new to the forums. I've been downloading a lot of these great mods(to me, all mods are great, as it shows a person who is willing to improve a game and have others enjoy them as well), but I haven't found a few I would have thought existed. Maybe I'm not looking in the right place or they don't exist....yet. To me, the most frustrating thing in Oblivion, right from the start, is the amount you can carry. I do understand that you shouldn't be able to carry EVERYTHING due to weight restrictions, but I would have thought some items would exist to help. Plus, a few items that wouldn't take away weight but would take away the huge lists from your inventory menu. 1- Bags of holding? Do these exist in Oblivion via mods? ***Found, and yes, they do exist2- Keychains, to put all those keys on so that only the keychain shows up in the main menu. When you click on it, it shows you the keys you have then, but not before. This would clean up the large amount of these mostly weightless items.***found, and yes, they do exist3-Stone bags. To put all the soul gems you recieve, so like the keychains, they don't take up as much inventory space4-gem bags for the gems5- Ammo belts for the arrows? so you can place all types of arrows into it up to a certain amount? Would be better if we had more types of ranged equipment, but still useful6-bags to put the various rings and amulets into?7- a book bag perchance? (there's a book belt mod, but not what I meant at all)8- scroll cases For weapons and armor, I don't feel that these should have bags unless bags of holding. If these exist already, please navigate me to them. I'll dance at your wedding and cry at your funeral. Also, feel free to use this topic to ask for mods that may/may not exist or to put ideas for mods you feel should be added. who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men? The Shadow knows New: Also, has other bow types and their ammo been modded yet? If so, I'd appreciate knowing where these are. If not I'd like to see: 1-crossbows**** found these myself at: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=14723 2-arbalests, the one person operated ones with a crank, not the siege type3-parrying daggers, such as the main-gauche or the swordbreaker(mostly catches swords so they can't be swung, not actually break them...a purposely dulled shortsword with notches for catching enemy blades, I did notice a mod for dual wielding...ambidextrie, but not these items that make it work)4- slings, with rock bullets? 5-throwing axes, hammers, and spears?*** Found throwing axes at: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=7822 * also is there a way to take enchantments OFF of a weapon you've already enchanted?****There actually is several, some taking the form of purchasable spells. Shadowcran
I've noticed quite a few people think as I do..Why is the war axe a blunt weapon when the 2 headed axe is a bladed...answer? I think when they designed the game, they didn't think there was enough blunt variety. Why didn't they add?: 1- clubs(I've seen mods that add this)2- flails***Found at http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=14941 3- flanged maces4- mauls***http://www.tesnexus.com/modules/members/kudos.php?id=127513 5-morningstars6- quarterstaffs ( or at least make existing staffs in the game wieldable as a blunt weapon) 7- bec-de-corbins8- horsemen's pick9- bludgeons(seen a mod for this too)10- whips http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_medieval_weapons
GenghisKhanIT
Hello Shadowcran, welcome to the forum ! Some answers to your questions. Sorry not being able to provide links by now, you will have to use site's search feature using the mod name I provided you, without apostrophes, and voila, you have your pages. 1- Bags of holding? Do these exist in Oblivion via mods?--> Yes, the mod is called 'Bag of Holding'. Another one is 'Portable campsite' which contains a whole portable campsite: tent, stool, fireplace and a sack. I use this 2nd one. 2- Keychains, to put all those keys on so that only the keychain shows up in the main menu. When you click on it, it shows you the keys you have then, but not before. This would clean up the large amount of these mostly weightless items.--> Yes, it is called 'Keychain'. 3-Stone bags. 8- scroll cases--> For all of these, none that I can remember of. You could use the generic bag of holding. For weapons and armor, I don't feel that these should have bags unless bags of holding. If these exist already, please navigate me to them. I'll dance at your wedding and cry at your funeral. Also, feel free to use this topic to ask for mods that may/may not exist or to put ideas for mods you feel should be added. who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men? Enjoy your game.
Shadowcran
Thank you very much Genghis. I WILL dance at your wedding and cry at your funeral...It's a southern US expression, lol. Funny and ironic thing...your name, Genghis Khan, made me pause and wonder for a second. My best friend in Runescape had a similar name and it made me wonder if this is where he ended up as well after he too stopped playing it. Of course, he'd have recognized this name as belonging to me so I know it isn't you. Temujin was one of my favorite historical figures as well. Wish we had the curved mongolian bows they used from horseback in Oblivion.
GenghisKhanIT
You're right, I am not your best friend , especially because I've never played Runescape.
Shadowcran
No problem, Genghis. Thanks again anyway for posting your advice. There are some others I mentioned in the first and second posts that I've found on my own. Once again, feel free to post mods you may be looking for and perhaps I or other players can locate them. Michlo
Welcome aboard. :) There is a soul gem bag and it is very handy as it allows you to choose which of your gems is filled next. http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View...ail&id=2037 My favourite help for inventory control is the dimension of magicka. This is also very handy for vampires if they are caught in the sunlight before they can get to somewhere safe. ;) If you're a role-player, I'd recommend only using this one if your character is able to wield magic though. http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View...tail&id=314 Sorry, I couldn't find them here on the Nexus. I would also recommend that you check out the top 100 mods here for such wonderful things as Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul, the Armamentarium (http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=18417, which will give you the weapons you are seeking), some of Slof's wickedly imagined mods, Glenvar Castle (the best castle mod we have so far), Better Cities and some amazing ones I added just last night found here: http://www.novazone.karoo.net/. Good luck.
Shadowcran
Thank you very much for the assistance. I guess I'm a pack rat and love to find things to help manage inventory. The soul gem bag sounds even better than what I was seeking. Those other mods sound great as well, but I've got to pick and choose on a lot of BIG mods as I still only have dialup...what can I say? I live in the sticks in Mississippi for pete's sake.lol

Is this one of those weird time-travel things and I'm actually talking to someone from the past? ooooerr ;) Good luck with your game and just set those big ones downloading over night. Cheers.
