Can't throw a flare without it disappearing while co-op or BtZ

Hey Nexus, I'm wondering if any of you pro modder's out there would know what's wrong with my modpak!

 

After every update Dying Light comes out with, my modpak needs to be updated, but I have no idea what I'm actually supposed to change within the modpak. Looking through files of different and up-to-date modpaks, I found that the file named inventory_special.scr was changed between updates. My modpak was 255,936kb, while an edited version was 257,120kb. I don't know if this is the case, and this may very well could be what file I'm supposed to be changing/editing every update. If someone could either help me understand what to do after every update or point me in the direction of someone who can do it for me/tell me how to do it, that'd be a blessing.
