ElTotor95
Hello Everybody, Please, forgive me if my English is incorrect (I'm a french dude). First, my computer configuration : Windows 7, i5 - 4590, 16go ram, GTX970 (if it could help) My game : fallout new vegas ultimate edition on GOG. My mod list (as written on Fallout Mod Manager): Electro city - CompletedWorkorders, Electro city - Highways and Byways, great khangreatOverhaul, FNV Realistic Wasteland Lighting - all DLC, NukaCola -Ojo, dD - Enhanced Blood Main NV, Vurt's WFO, EVE FNV - All DLC, TLD_Travelers, PerkEveryLevel, UpgradeFromTheCommonwealth, FO4PowerArmorReplacersWithDLC, NCROverhaul, BrotherhoodReforged, TheLegionWillRyse, PowderIsTheNewBlack, BoomersGoBoom, MojaveSandyDesert, Increasedspeed, FNV Lighting - ENB DLC, FNV Realistic Wasteland LIghting - ENB (those last two come from Nevada Enb 3.0 for Rwl 2.0, I have installed enb series before). Here are my questions: 1) How to be sure everything is correctly installed, correctly working and not in conflict with another mod? (the game is not crashing as far as I know, after playing for 10 hours) Do you see some mods that don't work together?2) I'm not sure I've installed NVSE (and not sure what it is for), but I think I have installed JIP LN NVSE plugin and Living Desert. Is it the same thing?3) A lot of mods have files that go into data/fomod and many mods have a info.xml, so I didn't know if I had to overwrite it or not (I didn't overwrite it)4) About ENB : what graphical option do I have to shut down? Antialiasing, Anisotropic ? But what about Transparency Multisampling ? Check or uncheck? Water Displacement? other thing to check/uncheck/disable?5) If I want to have the best graphical experience, is there other mods I need to use absolutly? Without denaturing the artistic touch or the lore of the game (don't need guns from today for example).6) Good mods to have better animation without changing the gameplay? I think that's all for the moment. Happy if someone can help me! :)Thank you for your forthcoming answer. Best
dubiousintent
We REALLY need to see your sorted "load order" as produced by "LOOT"; to include the main game and DLC files. With modded games its the sequence, not merely the list of mods, which is the cause of many problems. LOOT's sort gives a good first approximation, correcting the most obvious issues and is sufficient for most players. You can make minor adjustments to the order and tell LOOT how to remember them. It's in the documentation under "Metadata". Instructions on how to copy it's list for posting are in the "How to ask for help" article, and "Checklist Item #11' entry in the wiki "Fallout NV Mod Conflict Troubleshooting" guide. Please take the time to read the wiki "FNV General Mod Use Advice" article. It covers things that are different with FNV from other games such as FO4. Understanding those differences will help you avoid a lot of problems. The community tends to assume you know these things. Re 1: A quick search on Nexus did not turn up a "FO4 Power Armor" mod. If it was not made specifically for FNV from scratch (porting from FO4 to FNV is not legal except for personal use), it will undoubtedly cause problems. Major differences in the game engines used for the two games. I don't recognize several of those mods, so can't predict how well they will work together. However, if you have gotten 10 hours into the game AND have moved out of the cell containing Goodsprings (to the point where you were asked if you wanted to "respec" your character, then you are only going to know when you reach an area those mods do affect. Re 2: Please see 'Checklist Item #4' entry in the wiki "Fallout NV Mod Conflict Troubleshooting" guide. Re 3: FOMOD files all use the same filenames to convey installation information. They are not needed once the mod is installed, so just let them overwrite each other. Simply don't rely upon any you find already under the "Data" folder as there is no telling what they refer to. Re 4: Please see 'Solutions to Post-Processor (ENB/SweetFX et. al.) problems' section in the wiki "Fallout NV Mod Conflict Troubleshooting" guide. Re 5: The "graphical experience" gets complex very quickly. The good news is that you are less likely to have major problems on Win7 than on Win10. But take the time to do some reading before you try graphic mods. Understand the distinction between "object" models and "VWD/LOD" models (referenced in the 'LOD/VWD Texture Packs' section of the wiki "FNV General Mod Use Advice" article). Also, please see the wiki "Display resolution versus Image Size" article. Your GTX970 should be good for image sizes up to 2048x2048 in general. I would also recommend you leave out ENB until after you have gotten setup and tested all your mods together in a stable configuration. It does cause some problems and complicates the troubleshooting. Re 6 [Edited]: Most popular animation mods involve "weapons" reloading. There is an entire category section of the Nexus devoted to "Animations". "Best" is so subjective and "personal preference" I refuse to get into the argument. "Endorsements" is as good a gauge of overall community reaction/acceptance of any mod as you are going to find. Just remember that older mods have had more time to accumulate endorsements compared to newer ones. But newer mods are generally in reaction to perceived issues with older ones that someone felt strongly enough to spend a lot of effort to create. Personally I judge them first on the description, then on reading the "Comments" tab to find what those issues are, and finally on the ratio of "number of downloads" to the "number of endorsements". (I only consider the age of a mod when there are several on the same theme.) There isn't any "magic ratio", but a high download count but relatively low number of endorsements suggest most who tried it didn't find what the description led them to expect. Comments usually help clarify that. But again, so much depends upon what you are looking for. Many "gems" just never found the audience they deserved. That should get you started. If you have specific questions, please provide ALL the information requested in the wiki "How to ask for help" article with each topic. Don't forget to identify things that do not appear in the "load order", such as NVSE and it's related plugins, texture replacements (specifically their larger image sizes: 1024x1024, etc.), and "post-processors" like ENB or SweetFX. Use the appropriate sub-forum as different sections get different eye-balls. -Dubious-
