Help needed: making a custom item legendary in GECK

Hi all,

 

Back with another question while working on my head wear mod. I can't, for the love of all that's holy, find out how to make the unique / legendary affix (the *) show up on my custom items.

 

I used the "FeaturedItem" keyword and while it does ring the legendary 1st pick-up sound effect, it doesn't add the affix to the item in game or offer a way to add a flavor text.

 

So I reckon it requires a legendary object mod added to the item, but how do you add one to a piece of armor/clothing in the armor list? Not through the available keyword fields it seems.

 

I tried following a YT tutorial on it but it uses a vanilla 10mm to transform it to a unique version through a script with custom formlist, etc, but that seems overly complicated for what I want. ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w57JUPYDa18 ) Also when looking at other mods with custom legendary items I see folks do it without quests and formlists.

 

Please enlighten me!

If you aren't planning to make your gear upgradable, editing Object Template will be it.

In detail,

1.open the armor window

2.click "Object Template" (left bottom)

3.right click the area left top and click "new"

4.add your object mod to the "object modifier" tab

Works like a charm. Thanks so much. Must have looked over that button a thousand times :)

 

Not sure what you mean with no upgrading though: adding liner / other legendary effects / weave still functions through the keywords in the normal armor template. I guess you mean visual upgrades?
