Cyberlazy
Just as it says in the topic, I found my rather high end video card was running out of video memory due to installed texture mods and interior mods that used a large number of objects, resulting in a lot of instability, when FONV runs out of video memory it just crashes to desktop with no error message! I have a 295 GTX video card with 896 megs of ram btw. I also found out that with a large number of windows open and windows aero running, I was using 270megs of video memory without any games running! Turning off aero resulted in only using 70megs of video memory. After turning off windows aero, FONV seems much more stable and is memory usage is only going to 700megs peak. (Just where it used to crash!) For those who don't use aero, Consider downloading a program that displays video memory usage, then you could see if that is your problem and use a lower texture setting, or a lower resolution texture pack. I always thought the GTX295 was a dual-gpu card?
Cyberlazy
It is, thats why it only has 896 megs, Its actualy 1,792 megs split between two GPU's.

Apologies for my ignorance, but when I built this rig, I intentionally bought parts with the intent to SLI another gtx580 card eventually, as I had read that 1.5gb is kinda the min. for Skyrim at Ultra-high/Hi-Res patches and mods. Cyberlazy
Nope, afaik even if you disable SLI you still only have 896 megs memory. Note, if you SLI two cards, you won't lose memory, you just won't gain it either. ie, 1.5gig card + 1.5gig card = 1.5gig SLI
