Help needed on Finishing Custom Mesh Helmet

I created this helmet based on a one time episode only minion from an eighties doctor who episode from scratch and followed the process provided on TESNexus Wiki on creating armor pieces by using blender to add a material, creating a UV map,then using outfit studios to copy bone weights from a armor reference mesh (in my case its a combat helmet), and finally using NifSkope to add the textures and materials to the mesh. I have added a screenshot of the helmet mesh I am working for reference to see what I have so far.

 

I still have many questions I like to know the answer to in regards to creating a custom helmet.

 

#1: How do I prevent my Helmet from making my character's face become a very brownish tan?

 

#2&3: The last time I worked on this mod I did not follow the steps for creating a UV map for the helmet and just copied the bone mesh from the combat helmet onto my helmet mesh. I attempted to use this mesh in the game along with another custom weapons mod I made that included adding a weapon to the legendary leveled items list. Upon playing a new game with these two mods enabled my game would crash after spending 1 hour of gameplay on one individual character. I had to delete most of my mods to get the game to work again. Was it my weapon mod that kept causing my game to crash or was it my armor mod that kept causing my game to crash? And if it was my armor mod that kept causing my game to crash, why was it causing my game to crash?

 

 

Also I know there is a hole in the middle of the helmet, that is where I am planning on adding a flashlight mesh to it. Since I am not got with creating textures (when I created new textures for the armor, I just painted over everything using the same color from a certain grid point), this has resulted in me creating another mesh serve as the flashlight part with different textures.
