The Joker

Before I start, here's what I need.

+People who can script.

+People who can make quests.

 

Now onto the pitch.

 

So The Dark Knight is already out, and there's already a growing demand in the community for superhero-based mods (particularly Batman) for Oblivion. However, at the same time, there are haters that want to limit the game strictly to lore and not diverge too much from the original game's universe. I've heard both sides of the argument.

 

But what if I said we could please both worlds?

 

I've outlined a story-based quest involving the Joker. One that is hopefully the beginning of something much much larger later on, but for now I'd like to be realistic.

 

Terror abounds. Criminals from all over Cyrodill have escaped captivity, and there's a rising threat known only as the Joker. You, the hero, must stop this mad criminal from unleashing chaos and dismay upon the land, and help preserve peace and stability as you struggle to undermine his villainous schemes.

 

First off, your character is NOT Batman. For two reasons. One, there is no Batman suit, and two, I want to please the lore-lovers. I want to keep this mod as simple as can be and still maintain a thrilling story-based experience. So aside from the Joker, there won't be many references to the Batman franchise.

 

And in keeping with my desire to make this mod as simple as can be, all I need are people who can make quests. Rather than waste time making personal interior cells, this mod will use the ones already in-game. However, I will need people who are at least good at scripting so as to add a bit of unpredictability to the experience.

 

All comments are welcome. Anyone who's interested and qualified in helping undertake this project, leave an e-mail. For now the project isn't going to be overly ambitious. However, if all goes smoothly and we get enough support, then a much bigger sequel with many more features won't be too hard to imagine.

Unfortunately I do not know how to program, but this does interest me. I've actually been campaigning for someone to make Batman armor, and I believe there is at least the spandex suit mod in development.

 

Batman Begins had an interesting storyline, too. Perhaps Ra's al Ghul feels the age of the Empire is over, and recruits a guy dressed as a scarecrow with poison gas abilities? And a crime lord profitting from the skooma trade?

I have an idea as to how the backstory would go.

 

About two years before the current events, all the nations of Tamriel lived in fear of one name: the Joker, the most wanted and most dangerous criminal in the land. But, thanks to the efforts of a former Imperial watch captain and Emperor Uriel Septim, the Joker was driven away and many people speculated that he was dead. Now, with the death of the emperor, crime in Cyrodiil is on the rise. The land is full of greed and corruption, and anyone with a desire for good is either dead or has been driven into poverty. In the middle of all this is a conspiracy surrounding a secret sect threatening to bring Tamriel to its knees in fear.

 

The Batman Begins one could definately be put in, and afterwards there would be some time for some R&R before you recieve a note saying to come to a murder scene in the sewers. When you get there you find that the bodies of beggars were found near a message written in blood: "WHY SO SERIOUS???"

 

This isn't a must, but if you were to include voice acting in this I would definately want to get involved as the voice of the Joker!

I think for the people who would want to play as Batman (ahem) maybe a suit could be available, but not mandatory for the mission. Or maybe the player helps Batman? Though in a medieval world he would probably be known as "the Bat". Anyways, someone on another topic suggested that someone just needs to make a cowl and then just put a bat on the chest of Alexscorpion's sneaky armor.

 

If you do include Bats, sign me up for voice work! (I actually cosplay the character in real-life.)

This idea has the potential to be one thing: awesome, possibly one of the most awesome mods ever! How about having both missions come after the main quest, after you have been labeled Champion of Cyrodiil? That would give Joker a reason to want to fight you in the first place. I also had the idea where the Joker uses remnants from the Mythic Dawn as his clown cronies and even hires the Dark Brotherhood to go after the player so he could test you. And, I had an idea where you could actually join up with Ra's Al Ghul and the League of Shadows or with the Joker if you so choose. Each of the Joker's quests would be unique; if the authorities don't kill you, your clown partners might. Also, perhaps do something with Harley Quinn, maybe have Joker give a female player Harley's clothing when she joins up with him. And you definately would have to include Two-Face, maybe someone who is campaigning to be the new emperor. This idea has so much potential. It's all about getting the right people involved.

There are so many possibilities. I found a Superman suit mod, and it makes me wonder if a "Justice Guild" mod could be in the works someday. LOL, and with the Imperial Tower as their HQ.

Actually, that sounds like a bloody brilliant idea mate...
