alistairicus
I've been trying to turn one of the female housecarls into a man: I thought it would be easy, I changed the gender, weight, facial characteristics... everything. I checked every feature and compared it with Argis the Bulwark's and seemed fine. I checked the animations used, and they were supposed to be those of a man. But when I try the mod ingame, the NPC still walks as a female (he looks so gay, which can be ok, but that was the aim of the mod) I've searched for everything that could be wrong and I can't find anything. I don't know what I'm doing wrong or if there is a bug or something.I've also searched in forums topics, but I found no solution.Anyone can help me? Perraine
The first thing that comes to mind is the "Opposite Gender Anims" check box under the Traits tab and then of course the actual "Anims" tab ...Aside from that, IHNFI ...
alistairicus
I've tried with it checked and unchecked, and it doesn't matter, he walks just the same way. It seems to me that there must be something that must be exported or changed somewhere else, I don't know.I considered that it could be a bug because this problem does not happen when you turn a man into a woman.Nobody else has found this issue? Perraine
Can't help any more I'm afraid ... I use the NPC Editor for this sort of thing, it's way simpler and doesn't seem to have any of the strange bugs/errors/f*ups that CK created NPC's keep getting
gasti89
Maybe it's something related to keywords/factions? Are both them the same to other NPCs your mentioned too?
alistairicus
Thank you anyway, Perraine. I'll consider using the editor if I don't find other solution with the CK  Gasti89, I've compared (three times or more) every feature with Argis and Jordis, so they all were just like Argis' (I was trying to change Iona into a man). I also checked out the animations, one by one, they were ok; I checked the skeleton animation ("skeleton" for males, "skeleton_female" for females) and it was correct too. I'm almost sure it's a CK bug, but there must be a way to fix it.
gasti89
Another thing that came to my mind is about her reference in the game. You may try (if not already done) deleting the reference and repositioning it after the changes. Of course watch the checks, marks and tags on the reference in order to duplicate them after deleting. I haven't tried that. How do I do it?
gasti89
You have to find the cell where you housecarl is putted by Beth (for example i think Lydia spawns in Dragonreach?). The select the reference (the actual silouette of the housecarl in the cell view) and press canc. Then go to your male version in the object window and drag it into the cell view, in the same spot. Of course, make a backup of the esp before doing this, because i'm not sure about this workaround and you may screw up everything.
alistairicus
It could work, I'm going to try it and I'll tell you. I think we are in the right path, but there is another problem now. I've duplicated my new Housecarl (he's called Ivar) I've deleted the original Ivar and placed the copied Ivar in his place. Now he walks as a man (aleluyah!)and does everything he should do... BUT (and this is a big "but") Iona is right there too, sitting where she was supposed to be if I hadn't deleted her 3 or 4 times! I feel like a complete fool, but now I'm unable take her away of the game. What am I doing wrong now? :wallbash: Edited May 28, 2012 by alistairicus
