wolfarus
Before i get into the details, i'd like to say a few things to anybody who has the skill (as i do not. I d/l the CK to see if it was something i could learn to use with a simple attempted hair change on a custom npc..couldnt figure it out for the life of me, so i -really- doubt a player home like i'm about to ask for is going to be feasible for me), and who is willing to spare the time to at least consider my request. I've played the ES series since morrowind (which was a chance encounter for me. I bought a new gaming pc, and mw came bundled w/ the gpu that was installed). Oblivion was where i caught the "collector" bug, which both rewarded me for exploring every nook and crannie i could find, as well as giving me an immersive reason to spend a few extra in-game hours setting up my collections. Skyrim is where my compulsion (and enjoyment of collecting) has fully blossomed. Books, armor and weapon sets, unique items, trinkets and oddities, and of course companions. I've tried numerous homes by many talented mod makers thru-out my time with skyrim, and now my just-started time with SSE. I've found 3 homes that -almost- give me everything i'd love in a home, but each one is missing 1 or 2 features that the other 2 provide. So my request is to make a new player-home that combines the best features of all 3, described as follows: From Skyfall Estate (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/2185) 1. The over-all size of the home is perfect, imo. Not too big (like pretty much all of the player castle and mansion mods out there), and not too small. Upper//middle/lower floor layout is great when used with multiple-floor sandboxing mod. 2. The linked crafting station to themed ingredient/component storages script is awesome and has completely spoiled me in terms of expedited crafting (aka lazyness). With all crafting built into the same room area, no need for extra loading screens to fully make your gear (smith it, enchant it, ect) 3. Number of beds/companion slots. There are enough if you really want to load up on a small army's worth of companions, but i think decreasing the number to..say..6 beds for companions, a room/bed for the housecarl of your choice, a children's bedroom with 4-6 beds (and the room being big enough to comfortably hold that many kids) and a master bedroom for you and/or spouse would be perfect. It would also make more logical room for the additions i'm asking for, from the other 2 houses. 4. Crafting/armory-trophy rooms: Pretty much perfect as is, with the exception of the duplicate alch/enchant station on the 2nd floor(wasted space given the set-up downstairs, could be used for something else), and lack of display area's for any unique items besides the "major" ones that pretty much every other house mod has (black books, dragon scrolls, paragons, priest masks, claws, daedric items) - Though given how memory intensive it can get when you have allot of mannequins in the same cell, wouldnt be against moving the bulk of them into a separate "museum" cell, so the main house dosnt get bogged down w/ lag. 5. Location is great to get the house very early game. Other locations very near whiterun would be good as well (such as across the road from the farm on the east side of WR, for example) 6. Built in merchant - just convenient to have her there, so i dont have to make additional trips to the stores in WR and elsewhere to sell stuff. 7. Almost enough open book shelves to store every book vanilla/dlc'd skyrim has to offer, plus the additional 200 books from the books(x3) mod - Again, my love of collecting wants me to have them all. Additional shelves added so i could display a total of 800 books would do nicely The over-all general structure of this home is great as well. Large entry way, first library area on the leftside, door thru to medium-sized dining hall with shelves holding all the shrines of the divines and mini-guardian stones, stairs to upper/lower floors immediately to the right. From Elysium Estate (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/4119) 1. Interior decoration is far superior to SF. Makes it far more warm and inviting, imo. Better decoration-storage for things like keys, notes, ect. Exterior decoration is good as well, though if the crafting area was taken care of indoors, space freed up outside could make for a decent green-house with plenty of fertile soil beds for alch ingredients. 2. More scripting(?) to let your followers interact more naturally/extensively w/ the home environment. Like using the oven to bake stuff, bathe in the provided indoor bath (with clothes removal of course), ect. 3. The above mentioned indoor bathing area. There is a small, 1-2 person one in the master bedroom, main house area has a bigger 3-4 person one. Would like this new home to keep this set-up (bathing in the same interior cell), maybe even make the communal one a bit bigger, prob placed on the lower floor for logic/immersion purposes From Valkyja Manor (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/11866) 1. Display area's for pretty much every unique item in the game (thieves guild treasures, treasure maps. oddities such as ancient travelers skull, ect) Displays dedicated to specific faction's items (DB, DG, ect) - Thats pretty much the only thing this home has above the others, imo And that's the various pieces of my dream home, divided up between 3 separate mods (with the single addition of displaying mirmulnir's skull somewhere inside the house. He is your first dragon kill, after all. Only natural you'd want a trophy of that). Again, my gratitude to anybody who has the ability, time and desire to pull this off. If you do it and feel the home is good enough to make public on the nexus, go ahead. Wouldnt mind inspirational credit if you do, but it's not necessary. And smaller, orphan-sized thanks for anybody's time in just reading this semi-rambling post.
