Kherubin
I apologize for the stupid question, and I have done my research I promise. I just wanted to be sure before spending the point. Does Arcane Blacksmith confer any numerical advantage whatsoever on Magic Item improvements? By that I mean, is it simply qualitative (i.e. allows you to improve Magic Items) or does it confer a quantitative advantage as the other perks in the tree? As an example, would I gain benefit from enchanting a weapon and then improving it with Arcane Blacksmith, over and beyond improving it first and then enchanting it? Thanks for the help,Kherubin
RedRavyn
Arcane Blacksmith is simply the ability to improve magical armor and weapons. So the answer to your last question is "no". You'll get the same improvement, depending upon your other perks, on an item whether you improve it before enchanting or improve it after enchanting. BrettM
RedRavyn nailed it, but not getting extra improvements is no reason not to spend a point on that perk. If nothing else, that perk allows you to improve enchanted gear that you find as loot, including items like Dragonbane that can't be disenchanted.
