The only reasons consoles sell is because there's a fake demand created for them through "Exclusive Games", they're closed system computers with low performance but Big Numbers to make you think you're buying a Cray Supercomputer.

 

Yea, you can afford BOTH, if you want BOTH to be mediocre middle of the road systems, or you could just put all your money into ONE REALLY GOOD SYSTEM.

 

Consoles are already obsolete on the day they're released, because when the companies announce Consoles, they are announcing them with the current hardware that's out, and a few months after the announcement, the console is released with "A few months old" hardware.

When you want to update a console for new games, you buy an entirely new next gen console.

When I want to upgrade my PC for some new games, I can upgrade for $75 for a new graphics card that was $300 last year, or maybe add some RAM, or a faster Processor (If you plan your MOBO purchase ahead of time for same format CPUs)

 

PC gamers suffer because the Game Devs have to make their games work on inferior hardware for consoles, so PC gamers end up putting up with mediocre graphics and dumbed down interfaces.

 

144 keys on my keyboard, reduced to ESC, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 0, -, + most of the time, with stupid menus you have to drill down into, and drill back to the top with ESC ESC ESC ESC ESC

 

The Build Menu in Fallout 4 is a great example of this.

IF the gaming environment was PC only, the Build menu would've been a nice organized clickable Mouse Menu, but instead with get the menu that has to be navigated with a controller BECAUSE CONSOLES

I've had consoles. An Atari 2600 and an Intellivision. Both are long past it. But I have had quite a few computers many of which I upgraded when they started to get stale. To get consoles with this flexibility you would need them to be upgradable to reflect changes in technology, able to send and receive email, contact your bank for transactions, make payments through PayPal, etc. Then it would be a computer and there would be no need for consoles.

Reason to get consoles is for better games. PC's weakness will always be library of games, that's why you get a console. Trust me, you're all missing out by not owning a console. While PC has the best quality we have to be truthful and honest, consoles just have the better games in terms of quality games and the quantity of them. I don't know about...but when I see stuff like The Last of Us 2 and God of War on ps4, you'd be insane not to play that.

Exactly. Take Fallout 4 for example. Mods are so much better on PS4. Things like new assets and a script extender will never come to PC thanks to Steam's silly restrictions. And I think the 0kb bug will never be fixed in the PC version. And who wants to play with 60 fps when you can have cinematic 30 fps on a console.

 

And that's not all. I'm a sim racing enthusiast and like to have a broad variaty of different racing simulations. That's simply not possible on a PC. Only consoles have the complete lineup of titles including rFactor 2 and Raceroom. And the fact that I can plug any hardware to a console like a DIY direct drive wheel, button boxes, shifters and high end pedals outrules the PC. And after playing a racing simulation in 4K with 144 Hz on a Gsync monitor I've sworn to myself to never go back to a filthy PC!

There are a lot of posts around the internet where Steam users asking when Square Enix finally brings the Final Fantasy 13 trilogy to Steam so they can play it in 4K with 60 fps like to dudes on their PS4. That's another reason to never get a PC. Only on a console you'll get the definitive version. That's the same with the HD texture pack for Final Fanrasy 15, only available on consoles.

The ONLY reason you bought your console was because of the Exclusive Games, which is WHY Console manufacturers make them Exclusive, so people like you will buy a console based solely on a GAME, rather than whether the console is actually good or not.

 

To be honest, those games you listed as "Superior" I have absolutely no interest in, because they are becoming the same EA CLONE games over and over and over again.

Some 3rd person button masher, with ZERO brains behind it.

 

It's nice that you think your Fisher-Price "My First Almost-Computer™" is great because it has purposely exclusive games in order to create a non-existent demand for consoles, but don't try and tell us that those games are "great".

I don't see the point in the XBone, its exclusives are on Windows anyway, the PS4 is worth grabbing though, it's got some good exclusives and stuff you won't find on the PC.
