Editing a Standalone Follower

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I'm using this Custom Follower ( https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/12956/ ). I find him gorgeous *but* I dislike the 'anime' hairdo. I also wanted to change the color of his eyes and insure he would use the SAM body meshes.

- For the eyes I've copied the texture I wanted from the Eyes of Beauty and renamed the file to match the existing texture file - it works fine in game.

- For the body I've done the same, except for the face. There is a slight discrepancy (not a black face - see below) between the skin of the face and that of the body but I can live with that. I would prefer if they would match but I have no idea how to blend the coloring so I just give him a necklace and explain the rest away due to ambient lighting.

- However for the hair, I've tried the same renaming method for the meshes yet what I see in game is some sort of hybrid between the old hairdo and the new one. I think it's because of the facegeom nif file that has the old hairdo baked into it. I seem to recall a process to merge the face with the hairdo in NiftSkope but I have no clue how to do this.

- I also tried to edit the esp and change the reference to the new files, which were copied in the exact same mod directory but the CK refused to save anything stating the 'path cannot be found'...

Can anyone offer some guidance?

What a pain in the a$$ this is turning out to be!

I installed the LE version of this mod into my LE load order, then I loaded the thing into the LE CK, alongside KS Hairdos. I modified the hairdo and saved the esp, then I CTRL + F4, only to discover the CK had exported only a tga file - no nif. And it's the nif I need in order to optimize it and replace the one in this mod's SE version.

There is no preset for this custom follower so I can't import it in Racemnu LE to export the head again and convert it to SE.

And Racemenu is *still* not fully ported for SE, months after a stable version of SKSE has been released.
