imperistan
So, here's my idea that I've been kicking around the ol' noggin for a while now. I call it Out of Combat animations, and basically what it would do is that whenever you are out of combat, whatever action you take would display an appropiate animation, if it can reasonably have one, either before you complete the action or during it. Here's a list of some of the things I imagined could be seen animated, separated into lists according to feasibility: The Clearly Feasible===========~Reading books~Eating~Drinking (both foods and potions)~Opening Doors~Pulling levers and chains~Searching bodiesEtc. The Possible, but would likely need totally new animations and/or specialized treatment============~Opening Chests (and not like the open doors animations. Ie, bending down and using your hands to pop the lid) and other containers. ~Using a knife to extract animal parts (would play after taking an animal part like a pelt or an eye or a snout)~Plucking flowers and harvesting~Filling water containers (for mods like Imp's More Complex Needs or Total Realism) ~Sleeping~Cleaning/Maintaining equipment (for future mods that might feature equipment degradation) ~Taking torches off of walls~Picking up items~Writing in your journal (either after you receive a quest or perhaps when you're literally writing in your journal, if there's ever an in-game writable-journal mod made) The Totally ambitious and overly crazy/not meant to be really serious===================~First and Third person animations for everything~Putting on and taking off helmets and possibly other pieces of gear~Standing still for a minute will default you to a random idle (likely among a bunch of new ones) appropriate to that location. ~Walking Sticks (IE, staves that behave as walking sticks until you get into combat, at which point they revert to their combat position)~Proper staying for weapons like great axes, warhammers, etc that don't make any sense to just magnetize to your back. Axes and warhammers could have the bottom of the head rest on the back of the PC's neck, spears (if we ever get any) would behave much like staves, etc This would be a great mod to introduce a lot of immersion, I think. And of course for those that want it but also don't want to be slowed down by it unless they want to there could be a toggle for the animations and so on. But anyway, that's my idea.
