Arkillo1985 Posted May 28, 2012 Posted May 28, 2012 Probably many users and modders know about this page, but well... It may be useful for those looking for an 'inspiration' when it comes to develop weapons or armors.Give it a shot. Maybe you can find something to start some ideas for some new project. Medieval Stuff
imperistan Posted May 28, 2012 Posted May 28, 2012 Here's some more: http://maddwarfworkshop.com/customswords.html (these swords are ridiculously beautiful) http://www.darksword-armory.com/medievalswords1/ http://www.sword-buyers-guide.com/
Arkillo1985 Posted May 29, 2012 Author Posted May 29, 2012 Cool.Well, let's hope that is useful for some of the modders or just the people who wanna try doing some new weapons. In my case I just tried to do some steps, but well... I just came to the conclusion that I'm still a noob. Give me some time ;)
PolarBeorn Posted May 29, 2012 Posted May 29, 2012 suggest some of these to Jaysus, he does awsome work.

Medieval Stuff I love that if you click on 'medieval swords' in that link, at the top it says 'historical medieval swords' then has Robin Hood's sword .. Excalibur ... Sir Lancelot's sword .... more fantasy than 'historical' lol ... American's, gotta love em :) Aside from that, I agree with PolarBeorn, Jaysus does some awesome swords.

That's because those are crappy, stainless steel wallhangers. They can't even be called swords. The links I gave link to -actual- swords and other medieval arms and armor. And as far as fantasy goes, those are nearly omnipresent when it comes to wallhangars, and among the more serious sword makers fantasy replicas (that are actually functional swords) are usually pretty common. Just a matter of business that leads to those being made really.

You missed the point, Robin Hood's, Sir Lancelot's & Excalibur are swords belonging to mythical characters, not historical ones so don't really belong in a section that states 'historical medieval swords' at the top of the page. They belong in a fantasy section. I wasn't making a remark towards their quality or workmanship ... a sword is the same as anything else - you get what you pay for.

Like I said, that site sells crappy wallhangers. Expecting anything close to accurate in how they label sets of their products is rather fruitless. But anyway, here's another site for some awesome, functional swords, but with a total fantasy base: http://www.fableblades.com/Swords.html And don't let the name nor how the site looks fool you. Brendan's a well respected smith and talented at that. And in fact, Ghosu's already made one of his swords (http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=12449). Specifically the Hand of Tyr sword. Oh, and this sword: http://www.fableblades.com/Felarof.html Would be quite perfect for a Thane of Whiterun. ;) Edited June 2, 2012 by imperistan
