Outfit Studio, mixing various NPC meshes.

Recommended Posts

I came across this mod https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/31370

and it does things I have been interested in doing for a while now. I have been trying to find info with google as well as msged the author.

I have had a look into Outfit Studio and managed to find some info on importing bone weights, which seems to import the feral ghouls BSSkin:Instance/ BSSkin:BoneData to the wanted TriShape. (I used a Normal Ghoul Female body.

But I am trying to replicate what this mod sort of does in the way of having multiple TriShapes in the mesh- Head, Body, Hands, Clothing, etc. I either manage to make an invisible Feral Ghoul or Crash my game. lol

Is there any Tutorials on this method? or is it just not possible with Outfit Studio? Is it only something that can be done is Blender or 3DS Max? I prefer Youtube vids but I couldn't find anything that relates specifically to this. I want to create some NPCs that fill the gap between feral ghouls and Ghouls, so, not so rotten looking but still using the Feral Ghoul templates. I use Zombie Walkers and Frost so Its not really a lore Friendly Game I play.

I'd want to create just a few human/ghouls of each gender and age and add them to the Ferals LL. This mod is great but its not what I am looking for. Also, this skill would be great to learn as I would try other things such as trying to see how swapping a yagio for a Skyrim Grizly might look.

Hopefully someone can link me some tutorials on this. TIA.

Not sure if you played around with the Segments tab of each mesh in Outfit Studio but it might be worthwhile copying the info from the feral info to the bits you are adding. Helped me with multiple part head pieces. If it works at all that is. Could be that the feral skeleton is very different compared to the human/ghoul one, leading to all kinds of texture and bone issues, requiring a more solid mesh foundation made in a 3D program. GL!

Alright thanks. I know the Girl that made the Feral Ghouls to Nurses mod inspired by Silent Hill seemed to use the same method, but she used the above linked mod as a base to begin with. Damn, I have so many ideas to create the type of game I would like but no skills to implement them. haha. I'll check out the Segments tab as I did see one comment on the linked mod referring to the good work on sub segments. Hopefully I can figure out something using Outfit Studio coz I cant afford a real 3D software license.
