ShadeTailUS
I recently discovered Honed Metal: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/12885 And it makes so much sense! Of course blacksmiths and other crafters should be able to make things for you if you pay them. It's completely unrealistic that they only exist to give you, the player, a convenient crafting station to use for yourself. And yet, that really is the only reason they're there in Vanilla Skyrim. And then I realized Hearthfire has a very similar issue. Why in all the world does the game expect you to build your own manor? Shouldn't you be able to hire a contractor to take care of that for you? I mean, you can build your own manor, but not everyone is interested in DIY projects. And there simply must be laborers who build houses in Skyrim, because I really doubt the Jarls all built their palaces and longhouses with their own hands. What brought all this on? Well, my current character is, quite simply, a snob. "Smithing? Are you a bit tipsy, old bean? You expect me to get my face black with soot and my clothes stained with sweat? Bah! That's what the help is for!" And then I bought him the plot of land in Falkreath, and I realized he would have the exact same attitude toward actually building a house. But while Honed Metal solves his dilemma with smithing, I can't find a similar mod that creates a contractor to build you a made-to-order house. If this mod already exists and my searching simply didn't find it, my apologies and I'd appreciate a link to it. Otherwise, feel free to make this mod. You can even use the name in this topic title if you want. All I ask is you give me credit for the idea. Phazer11
Looking for something like this myself.I know there are mods that add towns and mines and such that let you do this for those mods (Windstaad mine for one) but have yet to find something for the actual DLC stuff. ShadeTailUS
I'm glad to see there's some interest in this. I really hope someone runs with this, because I'm not good enough at modding to tackle this myself.
