Mod Problem - no grass and low draw distance?

The LOD files are automatically installed, but you can check Skyrim/Data/Meshes/Terrain/[MOD]/ to make sure there are files there.

Also, Skyrim/Data/Lodsettings folder should have a .lod file with the name of your mod in it.

Oh right, you have to make the lodsettings folder, otherwise the CK doesn't put the .lod file in there. Sorry, completely forgot about that.

Ow that's ok, I created the folder and sure enough after I again created LOD there was a new file there with .LOD extension but after testing it in game I see no difference terrain and trees still disappear when I move further away from them, like they get hidden under invisible cloak or something, well you know what I mean, I'm probably still doing something wrong

Only the meshes are automatically installed. For some reason the textures will be created in the

.../Source/DDSTextures/Terrain/YourWorldSpaceName/ folder, which should be 1 folder up from the Skyrim game folder. The Source folder will also have to be 'prepped' before you can create any LOD textures. Also the Source will not be created automatically. You'll hve to create it (and others) manually.

Read the tutorial and it will explain what folders you need and how to unpack and convert the files in your Textures.bsa archive.

Once the textures are created, they have to be moved manually into your Skyrim/Data/Textures/Terrain/YourWorldSpaceName/ folder, keeping the same structure that appears in the Source folder.

Actually the Source folder appeared automatically and there are some textures there in folder with my worldspace name. And I'm not sure what do you mean by "prepped" could you elaborate? I'm reading the tutorial but I'm not sure if I get everything in it, anyway ill try to read more and maybe it will work

Yeah, the source folder seems to have been created automatically. Not that it matter in my case as CK just flat out refuses to do anything but crash when I try to generate the textures.

EDIT: Oh wow, it actually didn't crash this time! Planets must've been aligned just right or something. :D

EDIT2: Hmm.. when I went to copy the stuff from the source folder back to the right folder inside Skyrim/data etc. the textures were already there.

I noticed while moving texture to proper directory that there are none textures in folders "Land" and "Objects" which is probably the problem, I'm reading the tutorial I think that part about making copies about landscape textures and so on is about this, its a bit hard for me to focus today :/

EDIT: How weird, at the end of that tutorial there are some advices about some common issues and one of them says to delete meshes and run LOD thingy in CK again, so I did that, and LOD of terrain actually shows now in CK but still wont show in the game, odd :/

Hmm, in the tutorial, in the section where it "Generating World LOD" section, it says I should duplicate landscape textures and then change texture sets to those duplicates, is that necessary? Id rather not make new objects/textures/duplicates and switch things like that but if that is the problem why the terrain LOD wont show in game, while it does show in the CK oddly enough, then I guess I have to do it, but I want to know if its necessary. Also the Tree LOD still is not showing either in game or CK

EDIT: I used different tool this time, "Oscape", just as it was said in the tutorial, step by step I did everything as tutorial said and it still don't work, I have no idea what to do any more :/ Also, is there a way to change worldspace name?

EDIT-2: And I'm sort of stuck since I cant work on rest of the mod till I get that LOD thing right yes? Dowly advised me to first get this LOD thing down before I continue with rest of the mod :(

If the Source folder was created, that means that it will not contain the neccesary textures and meshes that the CK requires. You should create the folder beforehand and prep it,...ie. extract the meshes and textures from the .bsa files to the appropriate folders, then convert the .dds textures into .tga files.

The CK looks for these file and if they are not there, then the outcome is probably flawed.

It's all in the tutorial and very easy to follow.
