What is the Vanilla Arrow Speed

Yo,

What are the default arrow speeds?

There's several mods that allow you to change the speed of arrows by percentages. I want to change the speed of my arrows so they match realistic values, however I don't know how fast they travel by default

Also, you might find this info useful or interesting, so here's my current research summary:

Modern hunting bows are between 220 and 280 fps (feet per second).

The fastest bows circa 2007 was 353 fps with theoretical speeds for future bows up to 400+ fps.

English Yew Longbows: ~ 143-188fps

Turkish Bows: ~209fps (lighter arrows than longbows)

Selfbows: ~175fps

Speed isn't everything though. The weight of the arrow and type of arrow head count. When hunting the noise the bow and arrow make can scare animals.

Regards :)

In the CK the arrow speed (all variants) is set at 3600.00, what this number signifies is anyone's guess, however there is an arrow (which I'm assuming is a developer test item) prefixed as MQ101, that has a speed set at 15000.00

I did a quick "empirical test", and found the horizontal speed of the vanilla arrow in my game to be approx 80 feet/sec, assuming that the PC is able to run at 17.3 feet/sec as reported by UESP at http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Movement .

If running speed in units is 370 (according to uespWiki):

(3600 units/370 units)= 9.73 (This means arrows 9.73 times faster, than the character)

17.3 feet/s * 9.73= 168 feet/s

It seems realistic :/
