Rex1901
Hi! I recently tried installing an ENB (RealVision to be specific) on Skyrim. I installed it just how it was instructed. It was going pretty well. But when i actually play the game, it was very dark. I thought it was just a glitch and just played normally hoping it'll fix it self. But when i entered Helgen Keep, the game suddenly becomes very bright. It's really annoying because i've been searching for a solution but can't find any. I came to a realization that the game is very dark when im outdoors, but its very bright when im indoors. Please help  Thanks!
warhawk373
Did you change the right skyrimpref.ini? This happened to me and I found out I was changing the wrong .ini file. When you set up the ini in the installer, you should be using the one in your Documents\My Games\skyrim See Next Post Edited August 5, 2018 by warhawk373
warhawk373
So I found out if you initialize the mod through the documents ini then it is darker and if you initialize it through the ini in the main folder then it is brighter. I am now wondering if it is actually supposed to be that dark. Maybe when I initialize it through the main folder's .ini it isn't even activating. I might try to uninstall it and use a different ENB because if it's supposed to be that dark then I'm not a fan.

But at the meantime, i think im gonna give up on RealVIsion and try anything else that'll enhance my visual Skyrim experience untill i find a solution. Thanks for replying
Grospolina
The SkrimPrefs.ini in the Skyrim folder doesn't affect your game. Only the one in Documents\My Games\Skyrim does. Which lighting mod did you go with? If you're using Enhanced Lights and FX, then you may want to disable ELFX Enhancer and/or ELFX Hardcore. If you're using Realistic Lighting Overhaul and Climates of Tamriel, then make sure that you haven't specified darker nights for both. Also, make sure you're not using multiple weather mods or multiple lighting mods. Some are compatible with each other, so check the description pages to see if they are.
