caren65
Ok, so I installed a fresh copy of new vegas and deleted past local data.I went to open up the fresh install from steam and it crashed, without an error message or closing itself, at the licence agreement screen. It keeps doing it.What's going on? Thanks in advance I've also tried re validating steam files. Edited May 30, 2012 by caren65

I deleted the old data manually first, then installed a fresh copy
davycrockett
that could well be the issue then its always best to delete any game on steam via steam , id try assuming its still present in the recycle bin restoring it now if you deleted it by its root folder this will be easy if not gonna take a while longer first off create a new folder on desktop cut and paste the games root folder into it in one lump second restore the deleted version from the recycle bin back to its original location (i assume the cd key must in some way tag .exe's etc)now if you did it bit by bit reverse the procedure using the new install you took out in one lump as reference dont worry about mods (all that steam should really be looking for here is the games .exe's and any .dll's etc actuall sub folders are not apparently critical but .bsa archives are ) now open steam and delete the game that way ,i know crazy isn't it then try either an install from disc with steam running or straight down the pipe from steam 2nd option slower .
